There is lots of proof, you just have to look for it.

Can you prove there isn't a God?

Last time you tried to challenge me Modder I seem to remember you failing miserably and ending up with egg on your face.

Sure you want to take that risk again?

Can we save these God arguements for Theopia? We all know that God exists, and anyone who wants to challenge that can go to theopia and get raped with words :P (Just kidding)

What really pisses me off is when people ignore repeated suggestions to go to theopia and instead post nonsense here, which PCGUY and his Mod Squad have to come and erradicate, usually taking the thread with it :x

EDIT: If you'll excuse me, I'm now going to conquer the world with the blue star I just got

I think I did - you tried to get smart with me and it backfired......

I had to write an essay on this and the cut down version is this:

There is no evidence to suggest or disprove that their is a God. It evens states this in the Bible "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him” (Hebrews 11:6) so what PotatoFlinger is going on about I'd like to know. Yet despite this lack of evidence there is no reason to believe their is a God....

In the bible it states that God is so powerful he can do anything he chooses. So.....he can create a rock that he can't lift. But since he can't lift it he isn't all powerful. And if he isn't all powerful then the bible is wrong. And if the Bible is wrong about it's most fundamental point (that God is all powerful) then there is no reason to assume that anything else it contains is the truth. So therefore logic dictates that there is no God.

I could also mention that the Bible has been proved wrong through the Big Bang (amongst other things), and the lack of evidence to prove existence of a God (unless your Potatoflinger of course) means that therefore there is no reason to say there is a God. And if there is no reason to say there is a God then one does not exist.

And I just know that someone is going to tell me to go to Utopia or whatever the other forum is that was created (by God?) to discuss this.

Michael

EDIT: Oh look what a surprise. Can someone tell me the point of having a non spudgun discussion if posts will be deleted?

There is no evidence he exists at all except for Earth, but God is just a theory when it comes to who made the Earth along with how the Big Bang and Evolution are a theory.

Moving on..... I've been through this debate several times now and we all come out knowing the other person will never change their beliefs because some guy on the internet said otherwise.

I really dont see the need to argue about this here? Ppl just need to accept that some ppl want to belive and some dont. No one has the right to force their opinions onto some one else. Thats one thing that pisses me off!!

The way I see it is that when the bible was written it was a tool for keeping a civilisation under control. As there weren't really any consequences for those that chose to commit crime. It in my opinion is what a bunch of learned men thought would be a morally correct way of living. It basically was a way a of saying what was right and wrong.

But who's to say we have to accept this as the truth? The mormoms that knock on my door and force their ideas on me seem to think I should do as they say, but who says they are right? Who says anyone is right? I don't belive in the bible, but that is my choice.

so in a rambling conclusion if you belive, good for you. If not good for you.
No need to tell others what to belive :)

If you think it's wrong to force your opinion on someone else, you wouldn't have said that, because that's forcing your opinion on us. Therefore you are acting outside the opinion you give, and are a hypocrite. Don't be that guy.

Despite my adamant feelings about this religion argument, I refuse to join it. I'll let you boys duke it out. And girls, if joanna decides to join that is.

EDIT: Wait, I just looked at the beginning of this argument. How the heck did this start? I don't see this post by the professor...

C.S. Lewis was an atheist until he was 31. He bacame a Christian accidentally on a mission trying to prove a God did not exist. The more he looked for evidence that there was no God, the more proof he found that he did in fact exist. He then converted to Christianity. As a believer, I just thought I'd throw that in. Really...what can prove he can't exist.
