I would totally make a votrtex for marbles, just because I'm that kind of guy. You know what, forget that, I would make one for shooter marbles.

A vortex that big would require a body pipe that's at least 8" diameter. I'll let you have some of the pipe for it if you want, but there's no way I'm paying shipping on it.

Hahahaha, I really was jus tjoking man, lol. That would be pretty awesome though. And for soemthing like marbles I bet you'd need awhole lot stronger material for the block and barrel and everything.

Wish I could find some 2" square tubing, then I could put two vortex block on it. I'll keep looking, and see if I can custom order some from the plastics store.

I get 6,500 BBs for about $8.00US... I think that is expensive. I am trying to find a good manufacturer that I can mass-order like 100,000 BBs. Yes, oh yes...

Totally awesome gun. No words can describe this baby.

Or do it in aluminum, didn't you say somewhere in another thread you might try making the blocks out of aluminum?

How much better could the performance be? If we simply play with the size and position of the vortex block, all that might improve is reliability - otherwise, BBMG development has reached a dead end.

Practically all 0.177 BBMGs I've seen use compressor pressures below 150 psi, introduced through a limited flow valve into a BB chamber (which means that the pressure actually pushing the BBs out is less than 50% of what the compressor is putting out) - while due to the rate of fire the effect on target is dramatic, the actual power of the individual BB is usually very low.

What I'd like to see (and damn I wish I had the resources to do this myself) is a HPA feed of 500 psi+ into a steel BB chamber, either with a high flow valve (higher than the 0.177 barrel) or having a ball valve between the BB chamber and the barrel, with a nice long 3 foot true 0.177 barrel. Yes, a boy can dream...

what would happen if you put tpaintball airsoft bbs in there

LOL this is a quote form the website i just linked
6mm red-paintballs for Airsoft - Works in all airsoft related guns - 200 per container/item - Not recommened for AEGs, or most guns. No warranty on use w/paintballs. These can bust in your gun, use with care

Spudbud, I wish I could get BBs for that cheap, don't think it's expensive. I might make it out of steel and/or aluminum but they're very hard to work with with the tools I have at hand (a drill, a hacksaw, and a few files).
SpudBlaster, hell yes it does. The feed rate is unrestricted by anything, it always fires down to the last BB. The only bad thing about it is going through BBs so fast. :?

Is that a challenge?

Oh, and the power on each BB isn't as low as you think. Firing one round, then loading another, then firing again, one BB can go through one side of a soda can and dent the other, or go through both sides of a cardboard box.

In your guys' opinions what works better, a vortex block or a vortex disk?

Not at all, I wasn't dissing your particular BBMG, it's very well made - just a comment in general that the evolution of BBMGs in performance terms seems to have come to a bit of a dead end.

Going through one side of a soda can isn't really that powerful. With my "conventional" vortex block strafer, the best power I got per shot was 0.8 ft/lbs, about enough to penetrate a soda can, but when you consider that even a low end CO2 pellet gun does at least 1.5 ft/lbs, that's pretty weak. Of course BBMGs are more destructive thanks to their rate of fire, but that means using a LOT of ammo which in the long run is relatively expensive and annoying to clean up.

With my ball valve strafer, the increase in efficiency (keeping the same pressure) gave me a maximum of 2 ft/lbs per shot with lead BBs, almost 400 fps with steel BBs - full data in the original spudtech thread - it's a shame that a ball valve isn't as ergonomical a trigger as a blowgun handle.
