Vortex/ Barrel Question

Some sort of o-ring or section of rubber tube at the breech will solve the problem.

If he is using a good-fitting barrel such as 1/4" brakeline to steel BB's, (.180" - .175"), then I don't think he'll be able to bring about such a miracle of construction in a shop environs. That's a <I>really</I> small O-ring, about .0025" on each side.
Although, come to think of it, if he put a strong enough magnet near the breach, this would solve the problem, provided it was strong enough to bear the weight of all the BB's pressing on the one stuck in the breach.

Ahh, its an easy fix, long as you are using a thin barrel (are you?). Near the breach, like a few inches from the vortex, you take a very small triangular file (a larger file will work, tilt it at 45 degrees), and file out a very fine notch at the top of the barrel, so that only a little tiny opening is visible.
Once you've done this (now keep in mind that little notch needs to be very shallow) you take a very tiny O-ring, and slip it over that little notch. The O-ring should go into that notch just enough to stop a BB. It keeps bb's from rolling out, but allows them to pass under pressure. This also serves as a slight hop-up system.
It might take a few tries, perhaps try testing it out on a scrap peice of barrel untill you get the notch depth right. Good luck.
