I am planning on making a Pneumatic BB gun, running off regulated C02. I am planning to use the BB Gun for long range use, 100-120 yards. And im am looking to get out around 1000FPS OR MORE.Does anyone have idea how fast I can get the bb or pellet to go?
- It would not be auto, the C02 I might store from the tank into the gun for quicker release.
Anyone got a idea if I can get it to go around 1000fps?
BB/Pellet Max FPS?

I've seen store-bought pneumatics that could reach around 1100 fps.
Given the right launcher design, a fast enough valve, a long enough barrel, and a tight-fitting projectile... yes, it's possible. You'll have MUCH better results with pellets than with BB's, though.
Simplicity is your friend here. I'd go with a home-made metal piston valve, set up for the fastest actuation possible, with a barrel from an actual pellet gun.
Good luck and keep us posted.
Peace,
Pete Zaria.

i would like to add that it is possible to get it to that speed, but such a light projectile would have no accuacy at that range. sure it might shoot that far, but its not like you are going to hit what you aim for unless you use .22 caliber pellets.

I think your range is a little unrealistic. Yes, it's reasonable to hit 1000 fps with BBs or pellets if you have a long enough barrel and a high pressure chamber (300 psi+) feeding through a QEV or piston valve.
Hitting something at 100 yards and beyond is a bit of a stretch however. Even with this $2,150 setup doing 900 fps with medium weight 0.22 pellets, hitting a 1" target regularly from more than 65 yards from rest is very difficult, you need absolute consitency to be able to compensate for pellet drop and wind, which you're not going to achieve with a homemade pneumatic.

You probably will have a very hard 1000 fps with a CO2 airgun, considering that the speed of sound in room-temperature CO2 is about 930 fps... and you are probably running cool CO2.
If you really want high velocity, look into helium. CO2 is about the worst you can use for high velocity, due to its low speed of sound. Even air would be somewhat better.
I agree that it is unlikely you will have any kind of accuracy at 120 yards, unless you can get the things going about Mach 2 in a straight line.

Best way to get a BB/pellet that fast is a springer, the really strong ones that shock the air in the piston so quickly its gets really hot, though you wont be using Co2 for something like that. Hell, there is a new gun that shoots 1600 FPS with Raptor pellets (expensive though).
You should lower your velocity range, down to around 700 fps would be more realistic. Jackssmirkingrevenge is the guy to talk to about BBguns though (pnuematic anyways), perhaps he could provide a little help in an idea for it.

Your best bet would be to make something like this and get yourself a shock pump.
There are a number of pneumatics out there that can shoot at high subsonic velocities in the 1200 fps range with practically no recoil, ideally one should keep this as a speed ceiling and rely on projectile weight for increased hitting power.
The bad thing about high-powered springers like the Gamo you mentioned is that in order to achieve such high velocities, the spring power becomes eccesive and so does the recoil, making accurate shooting very difficult. there's also the issue of pellets losing stability as they break the sound barrier.Best way to get a BB/pellet that fast is a springer, the really strong ones that shock the air in the piston so quickly its gets really hot, though you wont be using Co2 for something like that.
