The Nuker I and II are for sale. These are some of the nicest, most refined launchers ever constructed. There was only one of each design made. Be careful about selling those... especially the Nuker II... it has DWV parts, which a pneumatic should never have.

Hmmm, $750 dollars can build a really nice cannon, and everyone here builds their own cannons, so I therfore doubt anyone would buy yours, especially on this site; but the cannon looks cool(pity about DWV) none the less.

Spud yeti has a point, No one will really want to buy it off this site. Anyway It's against the rules. And this should be in the Classifieds.

Nice guns though.

And DWV on a $750 Cannon? I would expect a cannon that expensive to be welded, gold-plated and Signed by the Queen of England.

But they are nice. Also a video on your site of them firing would entice more people.

You'd be better off selling them in the Local Trading Posts.

You probably spent many hours and some money building it and it must be a pain in the ass to give it away but i seriously doubt that you will find a person willing to pay 750$ for it on this planet.

A tennis ball will not reach an apogee of 1/2 mile.

Maybe if you filled the tennis ball with something like metal or concrete, it would be able to fly that far, but only with a very powerful gun. A normal tennis ball would probably have to be going several miles per second, but it would just burn up at that speed.

They are good looking launchers, but I don't think you're going to sell them here.

Here is a quick ggdt calc of a weighted tennis ball weighing 200 grams.

I will admit there is artwork in those, especially the Nuker 2. They are good looking cannons. But seriously, the 20 bucks for the pressure rated parts was too much?

Especially if you were planning on selling it.

How did you get GGDT to do that, did you just trial and error it until you got the apogee you wanted?

Just out of question, has anyone's hybrid hit ranges like this? A big hybrid is the only gun I can picture with even near this purported performance.

I think a TB has a Cd of roughly 0.3 and not 0.6 like you used _Fnord.....

The numbers are a bit irrelevant, as I couldn't get a tennis ball to go any high than 1500 feet or so. I tried adding even more power, but the EBC wouldn't calculate such high numbers.

Also, a tennis ball has a higher drag(because of the fuzz) than a perfect sphere, which is 0.5.
A golfball is around .3.

Edit: just read the description on the site, which said it could launch a large potato in excess of a half mile. Well, I figured that would be a bit different.
I figured the density of a potato via water displacement, and found they are a little more dense than the water itself.
I calculated a good sized potato for that barrel would weight about 250 grams.

I ran the calculation again and got a maximum of about 1800 feet, again with 9000 psi of 500 degree air.

Ha, I would prefer to spend half that and buy gorts Blue Flame III then the Nuker, and you could build the Nuker II for under $200 very easily, I don't see where the $550 of labour costs come in, just a tad excessive.

As Pete said, it's against the rules and I would like it if you took the $750 offer off your website, your selling a DWV pneumatic cannon for a very high price, don't trick some person in who has no idea what they're doing.

But your not firing a solid fuzzy sphere - it'll change it's shape at high velocities and adopt a more bullet like shape.
