Ignition
Hey, I've been building air cannons for a couple years and wanted to check out the flip side of spud gunning. My combustion gun is a 2" barrel and a 4" x 12" chamber w/ propane injection. The gun works but it sometimes takes a lot of tries to ignite it. Im pretty sure i need to alter the mixture but I was wondering if the spark might not be *strong?* enough. Im using the sparker from a BBQ lighter and yea I was just wondering if its possible for a weak spark NOT to ignite the mix.

thats very possible with a bad mix, there can be to much fule for the spark making it will not ignite. try changing the mix a little, or maybe its the sparker.

Even though the sparker is sparking 20 out of 20 times doesnt mean that you have a hot enough spark to ignite the fuel.

yeah, if ur mix isnt the problem u should try a stronger spark, like a stun gun or someting, or try adding a chamber fan to mix the fuel better if u dont already have one.
