I will see if i can borrow my neighbours camera after work- i lent mine to a mate to take to Bathurst ( V8 Supercars ).
Should be able to though.
Mr Russ, just like you described (the mould) i use a silicon based release agent, something like cooking spray should be ok though.
My mould is only a piece of 20x20 Aluminium bar.

Nah, the 8mm mould is 20x20 Aluminium stock. In that i use either 6mm or 3/16 bb's.
The actual hole is like 7.3mm with the top chamfered to gain a sealing face without the loss of friction (only the very rear of the round touches the barrel).

They will work great, i use them too. The only drawback is that if you hit something hard the lead will pancake, with the bb's you either lose the bb or not, depending on what you hit. (They would work a treat for pesky birds and rodents... not that i would ever shoot at a living thing

Hot glue Ammo, It's Ingenious. i use it all the time though my ones look like a plop of shit compared to those, still it's just one more use of Hot Glue, possibly one of the most useful things in the world.

it looks like those sinkers are the big ones pictured in the moulds of the 12.7mm ammo.

can a standard battery drill get about 1.5cm deep on a slab of aluminium or steel?

and yeh judging by what you say earlier alumium is really the only way to go for moulds? no other material i would cast a mould out of?

You ever consider making this ammo with tungsten sinkers?

Tungsten sinkers????
Iv'e used tungsten carbide (old indexible turning bit), but tungsten sinkers???

Next to come in the "Pimpin Ammo" range, SUB-CALIBRE SOBOTED AMMO. Like this cup

P.s. Mr Russ the sinkers are approx 5mm and yes a hand drill will do the job.

Yes, since tungsten is very dense and hard it might make a good projectile tip. Although, it is fairly brittle if impure, or so says wikipedia.

Anyway, tungsten sinkers are more expensive than lead ones, but they might make superior projectiles. It's worth a try.
