My favorite new word of the week -- "jeez" just "jeez"!

Rag, judging by his poor spelling and childish language...He was most probably a 13 or 14 year old, some of the crap that he came out with just enforces this point.

I've met adults online that sounded like kids and vice versa, you can't really judge.

That is always possible, but the spelling could be linked to a form of dyslexia.
He did make some mature and informed decisions and reasoning that I wouldn't expect from a 13 or 14 yr old, but then again, you can get some 13/14 yr olds who can sound that way.

Just going back to the opening of the credentials thread:
Recently my 14 yr. old son has come to me wanting to build spudguns. This really isn't a big thing for me, seeing as our family has been in the gunsmithing business since the mid-1800s (American civil war). I grew up in Windsor, Vermont and have been building custom Sharps rifles (Falling blocks, Quigley down under) for about 20 yrs. Please don't ask for any information about my company, this will help stay within the forum rules.

Anyway, my son has been getting a lot of information from the net, specifically from Spudfiles. He will almost always come to me with questions and I'll try to give him solid answers. Lately he has come to me with some fairly bad/erroneous/inaccurate info. I'm not going to give details. As a parent I have to discern what is accurate and what isn't.

This is a hobby that could end up killing my son or one of his friends if done improperly.

I would really like to know what type of credentials the "leading knowledgeable" members have.
I'm sure some will have issues with this request. No problem.
I know there are a lot of high school students on here as well as adult hobbyists. Knowledge means a lot to me no matter what age. I would just like to know where the knowledge came from.

I take a very serious interest in my son's well being and will be reading as many of your posts as possible.

Thank you
Other than the original lack of capital letters (which I fixed, along with some very minor grammar to avoid that affecting people's views of the real post quality) that doesn't read like a kid, not least because I don't think they'd be asking such a question.

It mentions and proves they've read the rules (more than some members ever do), shows knowledge of the forums and uses terms I wouldn't expect of a 13 yr old. Same of most other posts of his before it started to go west (or south if you're American).

But, regardless of if couchquail was or wasn't one, it would still be good to have a gunsmith on the forums.

@MrCrowley: I wasn't trying to point fingers in either direction. I was writing at stupid o'clock (About 3) in the morning, so although I now realise it's not quite as neutral as I wanted it to be, it'll do and I'll leave it.

Just for the record, I even told him to ignore BenStern. He didn't listen, and it only made matters worse.
