A cylindrical file, and some ultra fine grit sandpaper to smooth it out.Hotwired wrote:What with?origin unknown wrote:Yep, sure did.Hotwired wrote:Did you bore out the tees to get the barrel and chamber through them?

That must've taken forever if they're made the same way as the one here are - a thicker middle section to block pipe going further in.
I took a couple of looks at how thick the middle copper section was and considered how long it would take to file away and cut it out instead

I thought the exact opposite, thinking that it would be easier to file away rather than cut.Hotwired wrote:I took a couple of looks at how thick the middle copper section was and considered how long it would take to file away and cut it out instead
how fast do you think this shoots? i know in the original post you said you didnt know, but could you give me a rough estimate?

Just saw this cannon, very nice copper cannon
Is it limited to 200psi because of the sprinkler valve? One more thing, why no damage pics yet?

America, the greatest gangster of all time. With 200 million odd foot soldiers at it's whim and call.
When you fill your car with refined oil remember that it has been paid for with blood and guts, some from your own countrymen, most not.

Well, as cwazy has pointed out, it's a QEV.Novacastrian wrote:Is it limited to 200psi because of the sprinkler valve?
Most QEV valves will happily go much higher than that, probably a limitation from the source is more likely.
Does that thing kinda look like a big cat to you?
Its mainly to do with how tough the sealing material is.
The metal body is highly unlikely to fail but the piston/diaphragm in QEVs are made of rubber or rubbery plastic and thats what'll give way first.
Some which are sold at 150psi are used at 300psi.

That thing is cool!!!!!!! You should find a barrel that is thicker, like a brass pipe nipple...You can find custom sizes on plumbingsupply.com or onlinemet***.com....I would give you the rest of the email address but I got in trouble last time I recommended a site....other wise its cool..I was thinking of making a gun using a qev,but I was not sure how they worked...I was thinking they worked like solenoid valves somewhat????

I accidentally ruined the QEV that I used in this cannon and bought a new QEV. Here is the link to the cannon I made with the new QEV: http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/wwr-win ... t9985.html
The new QEV is like the kind Hotwired was saying that can take 300psi(Ragnarok's HEAL cannon) even though its rated to 150psi.
