Need some ideas/plans for a semi-auto portable bb-rifle

so s.man building a piston would be heaps better for performance etc. then a blowgun? it's it's heaps better I'll have a look at making one!
I'll also have to check out getting some brakeline soon; I don't really want to go in there and ask them if a bb fits in snugly tho! haha
bb guns are kinda illegal in Australia, so yeah!

I reckon I'll get most of the stuff for this tomorrow, but I'm just wondering what sort of system I should use to keep the bb sitting in the barrel without rolling out?- I reckon I'll either go with the breach-loading design or some sort of magazine, if that works better.
look forward to your ideas as I wanna get this thing going real soon!

on my 3mm bb gun (which i later discovered is actualy 1/8" lol) i cut a slit in the barrel at the start and inserted a o ring so it covered the top 1/6 of the barrel diameter, it gave me more power and the bb doesnt roll out.

it is and the power jump is impressive too, do it, and it depends on how strong ur o ring is but to apoint the further it is in the more power it gets.

well I had a look today at a couple of hardware stores at some aluminium tubing but the closest I could get was a bout 30% too big for a bb- is this the size aluminium you guys use, or is it tighter.
I'll still have a look at some brakeline when I ge a chance.

I had done a comparison test comparing a 4.5mm i/d barrel with a 5mm i/d barrel, for 4.5mm lead balls. That 0.5mm difference gave about 25% less power for the wider barrel, just to show you how important barrel tightness is.

yeah I thought so; I did consider getting the tube I saw today, but I realised it would be worth waiting for some which is a much better fit, which would make this whole project actually worth going to the effort for!

are you using bbs or airsoft bbs? because airsoft bbs should fit well inside 8mm aluminium tube because it has 1mm thick walls.

All I can tell you is that they're plastic and yellow...being in Australia, none of this stuff is exactly common/well known about because bb guns/airsoft is f@(%!#g illegal!
What I looked at must have been like 12mm then 'coz it wasn't even close to a tight fit.

bought some cheap sh!tty little spring powered bb gun from a toy shop like 3 years ago and it came with like a thousand or so of them; don't know where to get any more though...

Seems that a lot of Aussies can't find them and inprovise instead, but you can always get them of eBay or Trademe.co.nz

yes but if i got say 2000bbs direct to my door, dont you think that coppas mite think i have an illegal and 'very dangerous' bb weapon??
