I was thinking what if you modded a cheapo AEG airsoft gun with a longer barrel, and a hammer valve so the plunger didn't pump the blast of air but rather hit a hammer valve to propel the pellet, do you guys understand this I'm assuming you'll know about how AEGs work
it would probably work, but i think the rate of fire might be to high, maybe on semi-auto it would work.

I had suggested this idea on spudtech here, see the last post

That is a very nice idea.... I used to have one in my old bb gun but my mom trashed it while I had forgotten about it. I have kicked myself ever since for not holding dearly to that gun for parts. Barrel, pump, valve, etc.
working on it as we speak. I mentioned it in the "IN the world of spuds today" thread.

ohh looks like this is one of those ideas that many people think of ,
okay well one of the things I was thinking of was using a lighter spring on the plunger this would extend the life of the cheap AEG because those things break really fast, and when the batteries are low or defective (commen AEG problem) it will still work because the motor gears will be much more than strong enough to power the system finally the ROF would increase 9 @ hi: which I don't think would be a problem unless you have a good reason)

Sounds like one of the average "think it would be cool to do" ideas that the people who think them up never get around to actually doing. But if you're going to try it out.. Best of Luck! 8)
