The title explains it all . . . does anyone know how long a 20oz paintball co2 tank would last a regular vortex bbmg? After some searching I got somewhere from a few seconds to several minutes. Anybody got a definitive answer please?

It depends on what sort of valve and barrel you're using, according to Neospud here:
Gas consumption: ~25-30k rounds per 5lb CO2 bottle

Well, I'm not sure about the valve but I'd be using some sort of barrel that fitted 6mm metal/plastic bbs, maybe about 24" long. If I assumed that it was similar to Neospud's one then:

5lb CO2 bottle = 80oz = 25-30k rounds

so 20oz CO2 bottle = 6-8k rounds

Is that right? hmmm. His barrel was only 12" long though so that might make a difference.

It also depends on the ROF, if his gun has a higher ROF then yours or vice versa, the figures would be off a bit.

What do you plan on doing for a 20oz CO2 tank? Do you have a paintball field near by?

Also I can't find any copper/metal tube for 6mm BB's or .177 BB's anywhere, so I use the nozzles from weed sprayers and straighten them out for 6mm BB's, pretty good fit.

Really? Man I just found my barrel at the hardware store in the tube and rod section. Mine is a 9/32 brass tube.

Acorn Models have several types of metal tubing in various sizes. www.acornmodels.co.nz search for tube. I've emailed them about the inner diameter of their 1/4 Stainless Steel Tube ($14.21 for I don't know how long) Hopefully its about 6mm.

I might just go for a mounted two way bike pump instead of CO2. Way cheaper and apparently a few pumps will give you a quick burst so its not that bad.

Thanks for the link :)

Edit: Let me know if you find any good tube, I asked them for some long tube with an id of no less then 7.9mm, and i'm also looking for some tube for .177 BB's, but I could do with some 6mm too :)

Or do you think the $10 ones form Supercheap you suggested would be better?

Not sure actually.

Do you think other hobby shops will carry similar tube? I might check out a few local ones.

check out R/C model shops, the sort that cary stuff like balsa wood and carbon fibre tubing - I get my 6mm barrels from a similar outlet, diameter is comething like 6.1mm and they're sold in 1 metre perfectly straight lengths.

Pass on that. I just heard somewhere that hobby shops stocked metal rods and tubes and looked for some online. I guess maybe others might if its something that is generic for hobbies.

Edit: Yeah, what JSR said.

Also, doesn't matter about the blow gun thing, I just found one which is basically the regular one that everyone seems to use:
