I'm with Jared... to me, at least half the fun of building is actually building the guns, trying to figure it out. What fun would it be waiting on Jared to perfect his design, and then ordering one from him?.. It would be nice but it wouldn't be mine other than the fact I paid someone else to build it.

He was already opting for dual sprinker valves.
I would not dare to claim building something with your own two hands can´t be satisfiyng, if all goes as planned.
But wouldn´t you want to get something for your hard work?
Making things work is prt of the fun too, and since he's not "made of money"he needs to make a smart choice

I may have misunderstood part of your reply. If you're saying he may need to just buy a bigger sprinkler valves, I could possibly see that. He's (Zippster) basically building a very large cannon (10' long 3" chamber, and a 10' long 2" barrel) and using 1" sprinkler valves...
Modded or not, he's not going to be able to squeeze all of the performance out of the cannon with the oversized chamber. I'd attempt to fix the burst disc problem, or possibly build a couple of 2" piston valves. For $50, he should be able to build a piston valve, realize his first attempt will not work, build two the correct way, and still have half that $50 in his pocket...

Honestly at this point I wouldn't feel too bad about taking the dive and going for a larger sprinkler, seeing as I've been lugging around this monstrosity for too long without much to brag about other than its 'potential'. B squared, since you seem to be the expert on the subject, could you hook me up (ie. a link) with an *affordable* 1.5" sprinkler? A Google just now came up with several pieces ranging well over $300, and that's no fun.
If that doesn't work out in the long run, I'll try my hand at a piston - a first for me. Wieldliness (or the lack thereof) is no factor to me, and being hella long can only serve to further the image of impending doom. There's no way I'm hacking up those freakishly expensive 3" fittings without a NASA grant and some antidepressants (when you have no source of steady income, you pinch every penny), thus the form of piston is an issue. Any suggestions that wouldn't make me start emo-cutting would be much appreciated.
