Experiment for vortex guns
If you put a pressure gauge on a cloud's bb reservoir, and say that you are running the cloud at 100 psi, my thought is that it wont get to be the same pressure as in the compressor. Air will just leak out until there is a max pressure in the reservoir and it will just stay. I really dont think that pressure matters unless it has flow, because flow is the thing that is actually pushing the bb out, but if you had pressure with flow, that will be when power will come in. I dont think that a blower would work either because i bet if you block the airflow as with a 6 mm tube, it will cause it to break sooner or later. But these are just my thoughts..

OK, just to clear things up for me, do you think flow and slipstream are the same thing, or is it something else. If they are the same thing, it should work. And i don't quite understand why you think the airflow to break

I don't expect that a leaf blower can produce more than 5 maybe 10 psi... seriously it won't work well
leaf blowers is an interesting idea for a couple reasons, it could run a lot longer than a co2 setup or compressor and its small. but it has some draw backs being over looked such as noise, its hard to be stealthy lugging a running leaf bowler, and a valve would be tricky, you would either half to turn it on and off, wich would result in slow response times or a high flow valve wich would be awkward to use. ultimately i think it will work but it will be inefficient, the bb's will probably top out at 50-75 feet. some one should try it though and put this to rest i would but sadly i don't own a leaf blower.

You can turn a large volume of air into high pressure by narrowing the passageway... BUT if the leaf blower doesn't have enough torque than it would fail after a little while because the backed up pressure caused by the transition from a large volume to a small volume would create back pressure and make it harder for that motor to turn..
People just don't realize that you can get a lot more pressure out of a leaf blower by just narrowing the passage way of where the air can escape..
squeeze the end of a hose and water shoots out a lot stronger.... its all about fluid dynamics...

well I understand that you can increase pressure by narrowing the passage - that's true... the problem is that for example you'll increase from 10 psi to 15 psi...
what you all say sound promising... too promising...
just think about it - if it was possible to get any reasonable pressure from a leaf blower there wouldn't be any reciprotating compressors

do you think reciprocating compressors where built JUST for air-soft?
They where definitely built for something other than air-soft. It was after they where built that some genius discovered the vortex system.

Not entirely true. You will get a faster stream of air, but it will only get to as high of a pressure as the fan blades of the leafblower can push. Like you said though, this will create back-pressure equal to the pressure you are putting out (which I doubt can get high enough) and could break or stall the fans.Davidvaini wrote:You can turn a large volume of air into high pressure by narrowing the passageway...

For the last time: The idea is less on pressure but rather the resulting "tornado" from the fans spinning. THis pulls the bbs into a channel that goes around the fan, and using centrifugal force throws the bb out of the barrel. So air pressure is not the problem. I believe the problem is whether the rpm is sufficient to propel the bb.
As of stealth, that is sort of redundant if a stream of bbs are hitting your guys and pointing where it came from.

I am confident it will work, I only posted here to check if it would. as soon as i get the resources i can do it.
