I want to build a portable semiautomatic airsoft gun but I have some CPVC piping rated at 100 psi does anyone know if CPVC will actually explode at 100 psi or do they rate them safely to make sure they don't explode.
I want to use the CPVC and i cant pump it higher then 110 because my compressor only goes to about 110 i plan on pumping it up to 100 psi is this dangerous or will I be fine by pumping it up to its limit?
PS I think the piping that is rated for 100 psi water pressure will that change when I am pressurizing it with air.
Is my pipe strong enough?
It will probably be fine but I wouldn't risk going over the rating. you should just get some sch 40 pvc.

If my ass-backwards mind is correct, then the rated pressure is at most 1/2 of the burst pressure for plastics. That way there is a bit of leeway between working pressure, and failure...

The pressure rating usually has a safety factor of two or three, depending on the provider. But you have to remember there are such things as defective products. But if it says 100, you should be fine at 100.
