it is against the rules to launch potatoes at other people however not against the rules to send airsoft bbs or nerf rockets at vehicles. Safety and regulated pressures should be taken into consideration.

I suggest reading the rules, doing some searching and view some posts that have already covered this.

Then it is most definitely against the rules to talk about it on this site.

Did you ever hit someone?
You probably dont know what a spud can do when it flies at a high speed.
It aren' t toys. A direct hit would injure someone if not kill him.

If I was going to do this I would use nerf rockets you know foam ones that would probably be safe I would do it.
You can tell how awesome a cannon is by the pressure used.

And I would used regulated and reliable pneumatics to make sure no dangerously powerfull shots are fired.

A standard piece'o'crap spray'n'pray wouldn't kill someone in most cases, just hurt them. At a hundred yards or so, it wouldn't even be that terrible to get hit by (one of my buddies shot me in the ass from 50 yards with a spray'n'pray, so I do have an idea what I'm talking about here).

When we play airsoft, there's one or two people on each team running around with a 1.5" bore, 150psi ball valve pneumatic, with a 4' barrel, which we load with airsoft rounds, potatos, wax chips, steel BBs, and any other non-lethal projectiles we find lying around. They're weak in terms of launchers, but still a b*tch to get hit by, and that's kind of the point if you're playing a game.

So, we don't use them as artillery as much as heavy infantry weapons. Of course, the guy carrying the big gun only has one powerful shot, and then a Crappy Tire pistol as a sidearm, so he's more of a martyr for the rest of the team than anything  . Semi-auto would make for a new game entirely, but we don't play enough to justify the costs.

I am a staff member at an airsoft field in charge of artillery.

I shoot tennis balls and water balloons.
A forward observer radios in the target's coordinates. An RTO gives me a direction and range estimation.
I set the angle and pressure and fire. To give a bombarding effect (Fire-for-effect) I launch multiple tennis balls (2-12 at once).

Tennis balls go about x5 then range of an AEG.
Water balloons go about x6 the range of an AEG.
Nerfs (saboted with pool noddles) about x4-x5 of an AEG.
If the enemy is with AEG range I shoot bee-hives, which are just a 10oz dixie cup of dried peas, old bb's, and dried beans.

For vehicles and buildings/bunkers I made a M1a1 bazooka.
It has hopup and is a direct fire weapon 200-250 foot range.

Now imagine that this spray'n'pray had a lucky perfect fuel mix and instead of your ass, your face was the target.

If people keep doing this all day, one time, it WILL go wrong and someone will at least lose an eye. Not so much fun anymore then eh?

well their is a thread in the non spud gun related area about actual artillery (Not spuds or anything you can shove down the barrel, airsot bbs.). You should have searched first before posting. Of course, it is a good idea but discussed in that thread, a difficult idea.
