Dude, when most of the world population turned zombie, were talking about thousands of millions of zombies, not just a few groups.
Cant lock that many in, we could only lock ourselves in :P
And if they are so less and we can just lock em up, why not kill them.
Till the day I'm dieing, I'll keep them spuddies flying, 'cause I can!

When you think about thousands of millions of adversaries, you start to realise what you're really dealing with - you can't make enough ammunition to kill that many zombies without a dedicated plant and a large mine to supply minerals. If only we could grow ammunition... :D

Of course, if these are the "28 days later" zombies, most of them would have starved to death before they reached the fortress. Come to think of it, if you entrenched in a remote enough location, why couldn't you just wait for them all to starve?

That's assuming they are stupid zombies not like the ones in I am legend.
What would really be scary if they were the ones from "cell" by Stephen king. They learn and adapt.

No, that wouldn't be really scary, that would be mildly worrisome.

What would be scary? A Flood infestation would be scary, and likely unsurvivable to any of us. Unless the initially infected zone and all land in a 300 mile radius was nuked to the point that it was nothing but radioactive glass, but that would be unlikely unless we knew what it was and when + where it would strike.

So, we've got to determine: what type of zombies are these things?

I find it interesting that the first thing the zombies want to do is eat.
So next they"ll probably want SEX!!!

Perhaps a DNA virus would be useful that only attacks "zombie" DNA.

Reminds me of a similar idea I have for Russia, for the irrepairable damage that they have caused western civilization.

: To allow China to take them over, then we make a DNA virus to eliminate the Chinese    8)

I've been in a number of zombie-infestation discussions over the years, the biggest one over 51 pages in length. However, it all depends on the type of zombie. If it's the Romeroan/Solanum zombie, than I know exactly what to do.

On a side note, the 'Zombie Survival Guide' actually gives a fairly inaccurate description of the performance and practicality of different firearms. For example, it classifies it's 'Assault Rifle' category as the automatic type. There will be next to none of these available, so replace this section with the Semi-Auto rifles section. Unfortunately, these are also poorly represented. You would NOT want an AK-47 or Glock in a Solanum outbreak. They are just too dodgey.

I've been thinking of what to say, and I think I have figured out the best place to hide.- With Tupac. He's alive and is hiding and with all of our non-zombie brains we can't figure out where! So why would a zombie do what we can't?

Yes I know Tupac really is dead

Actually, the best place (initially) is upstairs, in your home. Move everything up there, first. Then, you have to destroy the stairs. Yes. Destroy. The. Stairs.

There should be different levels of zombies (much like people). You have the insane running through walls on one end of the scale and lazy sit there until they starve zombies. So in the middle is your average joe with who won't fall for stupid traps like a bomb painted like a pie.

So mainly semi smart zombies who can adapt to their surroundings.

Wait... Wouldn't that mean all firearms are dodgy? Because firearms don't get much more reliable than an AK 47.

The problem here is ammunition, not reliability.
