Thanks pizlo, I feel better now.

Seriously though, it would be a sad day if as my only consolation, I had to look at a man with his head stuck up an elephant's rectum to be able to tell myself "Hey, it could have been worse".

The road to pneumatic success is paved with epoxy coated tiles of fail, I still learn that lesson to this day  :D

lol sorry, got distracted by youtube!

I have no doubt that a better pilot would improve things, but I'm more inclined to hack off the back and make a new piston. My difficulty is however where to find a suitable tube to cast it in, you don't really find syringes bigger than 60mL, so i might just go for a smaller barrel after all.

You could step the seat diameter down with an adapter or something? But I 'spose if you're not to bothered about what you shoot, a smaller barrel is just easier.

That would be a logical step if the thing could be screwed apart, but since it's all epoxied I'm the one who's screwed.

One of these days you'll find the joys of a serviceable piston

Ya know jsr, I can pilot the 2 inch piston on my hybrid with a schrader. I know you must have had some traumatic early-childhood experience with large amounts of dead space, but a little extra won't kill you if it means getting the gun to work ;)

Other than that nice job, Maybe if you take the guts out of the schrader you could pilot it by just disconnecting the hose.

Ah, but is it a 100% sealed piston? I had used a schrader to pilot a piston that was basically the pump head of a foot pump, but i could afford that because of the floating o-ring.

lmao.

JSR- by looking at your diagrams, I dont see how air is getting into the chamber. I hope lack of air isnt the problem, but im just throwing that out there. I probably missed something and will look like a tard posting this but whatever.

The piston isn't airtight, so the air can leak past it into the chamber. It's now most piston valves work ;)

Stupid quote of the now:
joestue "The chamber is rated to 100 psi, it don't say that on the side, but the 2 inch stuff is rated to 300, so by analogy..."
"only the last two feet hear the end is black cellular core"
"I'm taking it to 300 psi"

FAIL.

At least I wasn't strangled by my own stroller. Now lay off until I find time to fix this thing :D

Jack, I think we would have bigger problems if you were in a stroller.

Good luck with the fix man.
