Note that GGDT is designed and calibrated to suit normal spudgun velocities. On extremely low or high input or output variables, it probably gets off by a lot. Its the most accurate in normal spudgun range.

Thanks for the info psycix, I think the best thing to do is try and get my hands on some 4" pvc and do some tests with some weights to find out how accurate it is as i dont fancy ending up 100 feet in the air killing myself lol, I dont think that is very likely though.

May I ask why you are launching it straight up into the air?
What a waste of 300 spud bux.

Isn't it obvious? He's going to use it to pick off those pesky ambulance helicopters that fly over his house and wake him up at night.

a GB hybrid shot straight up would make a handy anti-aircraft gun, seeing as a GB flying at the speed of sound has the same amount of energy as an anti-aircraft round.............

but thats a bad plann.... right :!:

Which anti-aircraft round? It must be a pretty pathetic one...

And no, it isn't a good idea. If you're going to be shooting down aircraft, you want something that is accurate, high velocity, and easy to reload - non of which a conventional hybrid will deliver :wink:

Nice but instead of downloading that program and launching excel you could use the equation S=1/2 A T^2.
S=altitude
A = Constant of gravity (32 fps)
T = time from shooting to impact into ground.

Those dam helicopters get on my nerves lol

It is going to be used to launch unsuspecting heavy objects into outer space...well not quite that high.

So far the plan is to use 55 inches of 4 inch pvc with a burst disc somewhere in the middle

If you're hunting choppers, you're better of with one of these:

It sounds like whoever was composing the music for that had been listening to Europe's "Final Countdown" too much - at least, that's what I thought of when I saw the end of that video.
Does that thing kinda look like a big cat to you?

I once was talking with a guy who served with the Bosnian army, and he was explaining something very similar that the Serbians would fire at them. And he said even when it would hit fairly close to infantry troops they'd just laugh at it. Because it sounded like a bunch of .22's going off and never hit any of them. :shock:

At the time I didn't know what he was describing, because it was a dual AA or Anti-ground weapon. It sure sounded similar to that vid. :roll: 8)
