i think it's better to have a thicker wall and have it say 200psi then a thin wall saying 500psi
If it was 1 mm thick, I damn sure wouldnt use it, cause I have a
tendancy to drop stuff.
Sticky_Tape wrote:Well you said scrap the whole chamber which he doesn't need to do.
Ok, Just scrap the bell reducer.

I would use it do you know why manufacturers don't take a rating out of the blue and sticking it on the pipe because people like stevenaro would be getting blown up if it is olny safe at 10psi and they rate it to 200psi
You can tell how awesome a cannon is by the pressure used.

Discussion of this guys chamber and fittings rating ends here.

Chances are the bell reducer is DWV, which means it's not meant for pressure and could possibly fail. It is up to you if you want to change it or not. I'd recommend it. Then again it could be pressure rated, to check read this topic:
http://www.spudfiles.com/spud_wiki/inde ... _Rated_PVC

You guys spent a page and a half bickering about this, pointless. Just comment on the guys cannon from now on.

stevenarroyo,
If a pipe has a higher rating then another, no matter the size or material, always go with the higher rating if you can. Unless you're not going to be going close to the rating and the other pipe is a better option...Well there are many factors, but thickness isn't everything.

If it's been rated to an American plumbing standard for pressure, it should be good.

Yes, and it can probably hold more, I doubt the pipe will fail at 251 psi. The pressure rating is not the fail point, it's more along the lines of the maximum safe operating pressure. Does that make sense. I would never recommend exceeding the pressure rating. I'm always a little nervous pushing my pvc chamber over 100 psi. I know it's safe, but that feeling is still there.

Besides that valve is going to fail way before you reach 250 psi. I'm assuming you already knew that.

It's not a bad cannon. The main thing is to remain safe and have fun.

Not the gun, the valve that actuates the sprinkler valve. He wants to know how you made the homemade blowgun.
