Cool, but what is it made of, what kind of metal or plastic?frankrede wrote:1/2" punch, 1 1/4" cylinder

Here is the newer version, IMO, its much, much cleaner, and just as deadly, but less air efficeint. the cylinder is 3/4 inch, same shank, just a larger piston, and I added a Coleman Pouch to my air setup to store the 3 foot hose.

Someone already pointed out the use from No country for Old men. But the movie Smoking Aces had a similar device that one guy used. Pretty cool though
I am going to add a leg strap for the air tank, so I can run around with it, terrorising little kids , JK, lol. But I will add a leg strap.

Wow Frank, thats pretty nice, Are those lathed fittings? And could we get internal pics? How fast does it move? And what pressures do you use? That would look really nice with a good paintjob And you might want to consider adding a bumper at the end of your cylinder, because with mine the piston will slam up against the 1/4 inch coupling and break the bond of the epoxy I put on there.

They are all stock fittings that have been lathed for flush fits. It doesn't move fast enough, I could barely get it to put small indentations in a piece of wood. I need a faster valve.blind909 wrote:Wow Frank, thats pretty nice, Are those lathed fittings? And could we get internal pics? How fast does it move? And what pressures do you use? I think I am done with this project until I get a metal lathe, then I will make it out of aluminum and make it look real nice and run it at a few hundred psi:D

well you are using a rather tinsy diameter hose (and going through a quick connect) at a low pressure, but having a huge barrel diameter... I would just make a bit of a reservoir behind the ball valve. The one I was planning would actually be a coaxel with a diaphragm, equalization whole, and maybe a poppit valve for easy firing. I will have to make diagrams at some point.

I think yours opens too slow because your cylinder is 1 1/4 inch, and your valve is 1/4 inch, so It constiricts flow alot. Mine opens extremely fast, and can even put a hole through 1/2 inch plywood. And Frank, do you have to push your rod back down, or do you have a spring or something there to push it back for you?
