If your caps lock is broken go into Microsoft word or similar, type what you want to say and then press SHIFT+F3 until it's in lower case.
Then copy it over to your post on Spudfiles.
The bashing stops here, just wait for him to reply and let's move on from that. In the other thread he said he didn't mean to come off as so arrogant or offensive, so maybe it is just a misunderstanding. Give him a chance guys.

my keyboard was skewed up. i fixed it.
i apologize and have explained myself in the other topic i stupidly posted twice. i don't wanna insult. i meant to invite those that feel the same love for design that i do. yes it is hard and a bit costly but it's my goal. i plan on showin a lot of my ideas, prototypes, and finished products.
in no way did i mean to call anyone stupid. if ur up for the challenge than sweet. if not than sorry i insulted u and wasted ur time.

WHY PAY FOR IT WHEN U CAN MAKE IT?
thanks for all the constructive criticism. i've read all of the responses to my rude intro. i will choose my words more carefully from now on. i need to be kept in check sometimes.
also, the reason i compare airsoft to spudguns is cuz the only difference is size. u can use the same methods of a massive spuddy and shrink it down so it can shoot bbs. and u can also use airsoft methods on spudcannons. it's all valves, barrels, tubes, pumps, gears, triggers, and imagination.
i'm not an expert. i just know what i want my goals are and i wanna find other with the same passion.
thanks for replying.

I-Will,
If you are really into airsoft, I would suggest looking at a few of my designs. If you have any questions about airsoft please talk to me as well.
I'm an Airsoft freak, and I make quite a few innovations to airsoft.
I love to mix the two hobbies. so check out my panzershreck, my grenade shells, vortex cap design, 3 barrel self rotating grenade launcher and more...
Also if you ever need any help with AEGs just send me a PM.

sweet. i'll do that. i can tell that we are gonna be bouncing ideas off each other. i'm also working on a self revolving grenade launcher (Bowser). my only problem is that i can't choose whether to build it with it's own valve system. or to recreate the madbull XMPB4 grenade and use a firing pin to fire each one. i've made a large scale version of it before. i'm pretty sure i can shrink it down.
i just might do both.
i just might do both.

Using the madbull grenades would be a fine idea, but except for one thing. Madbull grenades cost about as much as a good NBB gas pistol.
Also, there are ungodly numbers of differences between airsoft and spudguns, but sometimes people like Davidvaini blur that line quite a bit. Also, gas blow back designs are extremely difficult to implement on full scale launchers, simply because of the physics involved. It is much easier to use blow forward bolts (often thought of as the standard mechanism for large caliber repeaters) or vortex blocks (the current standard for BBMGs) to achieve what is often a better result. Take a look at clydes GB semi and the Eclipse 40mm. Heck, if you don't mind incomplete pre-prototype designs, take a look at the X-ACS project. All of those use mechanisms now know to be superior to the blow back bolt in every way except that it wont realistically cycle a bolt, but who really needs to do that, anyway?

i didn't mean buying them. i meant building them. i got the plans for the valve that fires them. it's actually more of a release than a valve. it's pretty simple and genius. i'v made a large model of it and put a large dent in a dumpster. if u want to see how it works let me know.
also, i know the gbb method is a difficult one to build. that's the challenge.
u haven't seen my signature yet but it say "why pay for it when u can make it".

Keep on savin' then. You need to get 300 spudbux before you can "buy" signature rights

I have a saying too!i-will wrote:"why pay for it when u can make it".
"Why pay for making it and having it come out less than par when you could spend less and pay for a superior product!"
Current project: Afghanistan deployment
Because they do not sell golfball cannons in the supermarket?frankrede wrote:I have a saying too!i-will wrote:"why pay for it when u can make it".

True, but I was ,mostly referring to a gas blow back airsoft gun/psycix wrote:Because they do not sell golfball cannons in the supermarket?frankrede wrote:I have a saying too!i-will wrote:"why pay for it when u can make it".

I know.
But if you are trying to build a "spudgun" in such a way that it is basically the same as a commercial gas blowback one, there are advantages and disadvantages.
Good:
You can make it any way you want. You are not limited by rules that limit you to a certain muzzle velocity, kinetic energy or ammo unless you want to use it in a match that has certain rules.
You can make it in such a way that it suits a specific kind of ammo and pressure source you want to use.
Bad:
Building such a complex gun (commercial airsoft guns are usually very complicated to compared to spudguns) is very hard, and costs ALOT. Probably more then the commercial one.
Also, it is a damn lot of work.
You might screw it up too, or do not get the power out of it you would want to. Also, a loading mechanism like a blowback needs ALOT of tweaking before it works right.
In my opinion its kinda dumb to do alot of work on something that you can buy assembled and ready in the stores.
The fun of building a good cannon is that is WAY more powerful and can have a way larger bore diameter then airsoft weapons.
