Fan complications, propane effecting fan motor?

I just made yet another combustion launcher and installed a non-spark 12 volt computer fan into my combustion launcher (at the very back of the chamber). I hooked the fan to a 9.6 volt rechargeable remote control car battery and protected the wires exposed in the chamber with a flame proof covering. When I flip the switch the fan turned on, and has been working every time (I tested the fan with the battery several times before even putting it into the potato gun, and every single time, it worked great). I turned off the fan and loaded the gun with a spud and put some propane in the chamber and when I went to turn the fan back on, it didn’t turn on. I’ve read quite a few things about benefits of leaving the fan on while shooting, so that’s why I wanted to turn it back on before firing, but before I could even test that, it stopped working. I checked every thing and all the wires were still connected, the switch is fine, and the battery has a full charge. The only thing I could possibly think of is that the propane for some weird reason affected the motor of the fan and something in the propane is stopping it from working. Has anyone else had this happen to them? And if so, then does anyone know how to fix this problem? And if this is because of the propane, will it do the same thing with hairspray?

Propane won't affect the fan in any way under normal circumstances. If you have exposed wires anywhere, make sure they they don't have moisture (potato juice...) on them. Make sure you didn't "pinch" or damage a wire in any way.

The fans working again, no wires were exposed and everything was connected…. Kinda weird. There’s no way I could have switched the wires on accident, because the red wires connect using a square piece and the black wires connect using a round piece, so switching wouldn’t even be possible because it wouldn’t even fit. I didn’t think propane would have any effect, especially since the fans has a non-spark motor, but I wasn’t 100% sure so I thought I would ask anyways. Well I guess it doesn’t matter what was causing the fan to stop working, cause its working now. Thanks anyways
