Since it has no brakes (and really needs them where I live), I will be separating the back half and building a power bike trailer.

Very Sweet, Although personally i would have made the scooter wheel run along the bike wheel, kind of like a friction drive.

I like those. Kind of cool. Ive seent hem on yotube before.
You could also try mounting it behind the seat and adding an extra sprocket to you tire and chain drive it. It would be more efficient.

It would be more efficient but I'm making it versatile. The other half of the scooter I will be welding the front half of a bike too. That way, with 2 simple connections, I can have either a scooter or motorized bike.
