the BB's from a shotgun shell (size 7 1/2 I believe) fit well in 1/8 inch brass tube if anyone here has made a launcher that small...

I wouldn't be shooting that thing, you have a real antique there. Maybe cast it and make some hot glue or epoxy replicas or something.

you should make a mold from it, that would be a very good object to mold

The Minie ball was made for rifled barrels, in order to work well from a smoothbore barrel, it should either have some sort of tail or a significant hollow in its base as in this foster slug:

this is a great REUSABLE shotgun style wad for shooting a lot of paintballs (or anything) at level range without them rolling out of the barrel. the wad catches the air and falls at about 20ft and the load flies and spreads.

3 3oz plastic cups cut to fit
-glue 2 cups bottom to bottom
-cut the last cup into 3 pieces
-tape the 3 pieces to the top of one cup

I was thinking of some sort of half liquid like ammo somewhat like clay. Does any one think that something like that will work, obviously with a shell of some-sort.

You could have a non-newtonian liquid inside a ballon or a slug, it gets hard apon impact but can be made any shape, a mixture of starch and water would work well.

If anyone like BIG piercing ammo, hack the head off a big, long bolt.
Put the threaded end in a hand drill, and use to spin it while sharpening it on a bench grinder. You can get it astonishingly sharp. The you epoxy the threaded end into the top of a plastic soda bottle. When it cures, put it point down inside you barrel and mark the bottle where it meets the barrel. Cut off the excess, and you have a giant blow dart.
I tried it out today with a 3/8inch metal rod in my 2" barrel, and it split a huge chunk off of a 10"x10" wood block. That was mild steel rod. With a Grade 8 bolt, God only knows how deep it would got into a tree...

Truckstops in the USA sell miniature aluminum baseball bats as tire-thumpers. They fit snugly in 2" sch40 PVC pipe...

Huzzah!

After messing around with easily available/easily made reusable shells, i just realized that a 20 Gauge Shotgun shell (empty, of course) fits perfectly into 1/2" Sch. 80 (1/2 'Thinwall') perfectly, up til the little metal flange at the end, which stops it from coming out when the gun is fired, ad in pipe serves same purpose.
Drill to remove remains of firing pin to provide hole for air. Good for a break-action gun
