I would suggest looking in the Spud Wiki and cannon showcase sections to get some ideas of what kind of set up you want, then you should draw up a design, search for any questions you have, then come and ask anything left un-answered!

we don't spoon feed here so your not going to find plans on how to build something. Make a diagram of what you want and what you can't figure out search for it in the wiki and archives, if all else fails THEN post your unanswered questions. You might want to check out davidvainis(sp?) panschrek(sp) for ideas if a flak 88 cannon is like a bazooka.

Consider making preloaded cartridges, perhaps a combustion rather than pneumatic launcher would be better suited.
Couldn't be more wrong:jonnyboy wrote:if a flak 88 cannon is like a bazooka.

I actually had plans for a combustion cartridge system for use in feild guns and tanks... But I'm in Texas, so combustion is out. Added benefit; A standard spray-n-pray chamber is roughly the size of many cannon shells. All you need is a bunch of spray and prays and a few outmoded RC airplanes, some shells, drinks, food, and you have yourself on hell of an afternoon. 8)

Being a fellow Texan, i have to ask why would a combustion not be suitable? are they illegal here or something? But I'm in Texas, so combustion is out.
People call me ThunderChunks...I dont even know why...

What are you putting down the barrel of that cannon Captain? Glass, nails, rocks and anything else we can fit in it Sargent! Now shut up and give me your belt buckle!
You should play my Microsoft Combat Flight Simulater WWII Europe Series. All ways have to fly below the flak!

Unfortunately, they are classified as firearms and must be treated (legally) as such. That's why I don't have a full scale PAK-40 sitting in my backyard next to a pile of combustion chamber shells.FordGtMan wrote:Being a fellow Texan, i have to ask why would a combustion not be suitable? are they illegal here or something? But I'm in Texas, so combustion is out.
And jrrdw, try Aces High II. Very steep learning curve, but very, VERY fun.

Just to put things into perspective, this document is a report on wound ballistics compiled by US authorities after the Korean war. It includes some detailed sections describing some of the horrific injuries suffered by US aircrews operating over Nazi Germany, not for the faint of heart, particularly the graphic illustrations.
Imagine the above cloud of steel fragments fravelling towards you at several times the speed of sound, it makes one more conscious of the terrible suffering our grand and great grand parents went through for the sake of preserving freedom, and makes it more depressing to look at modern society and wonder if it was all worthwhile.
