i attempted on building the pen gun got all my parts laid out stuffed the shrader valve in the lathe brought it to a perfect fit with the chamber and jb welded it in place i also put the aluminum filled tube and faced it off then but a neoprene seal in it but when i test the gun the piston doesnt actuate is there any thing u can suggest i also found that the air is just flowing threw the barrel. if it makes any difference im using a bicycle pump should i be using a compressor for the instant jolt of air?

Does it hold pressure as you fill it up?
With mine here, it doesnt acuate till around 150 psi or so, any lower pressure and sometimes the air just escapes the schrader and nothing else happens.

As for the earilier question, My shock pump has a connect and disconnect that wont allow pressure to escape as I take it off, its pretty slick... So slick that I got another one just to use the connect on my fridge pump.

no it doesnt its almost like i failed at the sealing face which absoulutly makes no sense because i faced everything on my lathe and if my lathes out ill be buying a new set of razor blades cuz that thing was like 700 bucks!

I dont know what to say man. It could be a billion different things... perhaps how the sealing face it fastened in place? Did you fasten the sealing face to the barrel like jsr did or did you make a mini piston with a sealing face on it?

Mine just happened to work and all I used was a hack saw and epoxy for everything...

i used it like your, no air leaks out from around the barrel and like i said the shrader was JBd in place so it seems to be the sealing face or the piston isnt actuating awsell how do u know wether or not u have a good seal without glueing her together

For me it was a cross my fingers and hope it works deal. One of the downfalls of using a lot of epoxy.

If you want a shock pump that doesn't kill your pressure, grab one of these little suckers:
