my parents would be so lost without me especially since tom and amy are close friends of the family and we are with them through good and bad.

Sorry to hear. Shy away from drugs/alcohol to ease the pain it will only make it worst. Try to be with people that make you happy and try to keep busy, being alone is when it will hurt the most. Best thing to do is be around your friends. I'd say it will go away, but the lose of some1 never does. If you need people to talk to everyone here I'm sure will be open. Best of luck sorry to hear of your lose.
Well, I don't know what I can really say other than offer condolences. I've had a few friends (and pets) die in my life, but I'm a very poor empath, and I see the world differently to most (as a result of being autistic), and thus I'm never affected as much as others are.
Losing someone is never going to be easy. Even for someone like me, although I can stay rational and trick my emotions, it is still far from pleasant. Coping does not mean that I wouldn't rather it hadn't happened.
There is a quote which I tend to share at times like this: "Don't cry because it's over - Smile because it happened."
In my opinion, better words for coping with loss have never been spoken. It's somewhat surprising that's a Dr. Seuss quote.
They're good words to think on - remember them with a smile, not tears.

I feel the pain. Our family had one this month too. Not my kid but an extended family member. The memorial service was standing room in a huge church.
Sometimes I feel kids shouldn't drive until they are 25.

It's real sad when you have a funeral for a kid. My sympathy.

i have never lost anybody, just old people who had just good from dying because of their pain.
but something simmilat happened here to, the grandma of a friend of me (75Yrs old) got brutally driven down about three days ago. extreme injuries.
that is the kind of deaths that i could kill to avoid. old ladies that just want to live in pease and get their food and medecines get's killed by a 22 year old that was just going to drive by a car in a turn, it costed a lady her life.
met his mom today while i was at the hospital myself. hard to see someone that far down.

My condoleances..
Our thoughts go out to all involved.
A most tragic event indeed.
I hope you can all find some sort of comfort in each other.
Eventhough it's hard to imagine right now:
One day you will get through this pain.
This shows us we should try to be all we can be, let our loved ones know how we feel about them and appreciate life better.
Not much more I can say.
