Given the clean nature of the hole in that particle board, sounds very plausible for a marble. Now go on, see how much that oversized chamber is actually giving you ;)

Not to be "that guy", but has anyone noticed how much he double posts. In just this thread there are at least 4, including a triple. Fore there is an edit button. But nice cannon though
Yeah, it's that important.

458 fps is not unlikely.

If you're using a compressor then just leave the chamber, though you could reduce it in size and use a track pump for moar.

Got to agree with Mr Sandman. This cannon is also becoming more and more like a vintage car being equipped with lets say... Nissan Skyline GTR parts.

Considered building a new one instead of spamming all the upgrades onto this one? If you're really into spuds, you'll be disassembling your previous cannons once you are tired of it, and build even better ones :)

Cheers.

lmao i really dont care for you or sandmans negativity, and i dont appologise for not organising my thread a lil better, its funny when the people that actually help you don't complane, and the people that dont help just winge/wine
and to add salt to wound i finally got my laser sight the other day,"looks sick" and it would boost a GTR any day..
and ive also made a 1'' ball valve into a breech loader with a 16 shoot marble magazine, ill post some pics tommorow its late...

Ahh once again, the whole i dont give a crap about grammar and/or other peoples criticism. I was trying to help you from spending a lot of money on a basic cannon when you could be making a far more powerful cannon. By the way, Jealous? I dont think im jealous of an overkill basic air cannon. Your just lucky most mods dont catch the annoying triple posts that you make.
Yeah, it's that important.

I think you could get alot more FPS than 458 just out alot more pressure in lets say 140PSI and you would increase the FPS significantly.

When shooting the target how far away were you because it looks pretty accurate.
I visit occasionally to make unrelated posts.

i was standing about 10-15 meters away and the gun is really accurate ,plus with the scope and laser u cant miss, and i dont think the sprinkler valve can handle 140 psi :!:

here's a quick vid of a ball valve with a marble magazine i made =

here is the gun=

About chamber size, some practical examples of a launcher modelled close to yours.

Starting with a 10 inch chamber, you get a muzzle energy of 37.2 ft/lbs.

Increase chamber volume to 200%, muzzle energy is 38.7 ft/lbs - a mere 4% increase.

Increase chamber volume to 400% of the original, muzzle energy is now 39.6 ft/lbs - just 6% more muzzle energy, in practical terms you would never notice this increase without the benefit of a chronograph. In terms of filling the chamber though, you would certainly notice the difference, especially if filling by hand pump, and the shot would be much louder too.
