Very wierd, I have been awaiting a PM, and was unsure it was answered, if you sent your PM already then obviously something is wrong with my account as I didn't recieve any PMs... I will check again in a while. (Und ja, ich sprech Deutsch.)

Extremely nice design and construction! Good looking indeed! How does the muzzle brake treat potatos?

yeah the muzzle break works great!
if you wonder how i´m loading with that, i build a loading tool
here it is:
it works easy, just press it into a potato, the projectile is read. than hold it in the muzzle break and press it in the barrel with a wooden stock
sorry at the time i´ve got no chance to make a video. i don´t have a camera, i´m sorry. a sell all things this summer for my other hobby, cars, just bought a 87 trans am

hey chenslee
i made it out of 3 car jackers.
i got them from the junkyard. the one behind is from a pontiac firebird. the two in front from ford. they are not exactly the same, but, i dont mind, thats no high precision rail gun . one is from a ford mondeo, the other from a fiesta.

Very Very nice, you really should shoot some ballbearings out of it!

Torpedo, really really nice cannon there!! For me, the notable features are the muzzle brake, the hard sights, and the adjustable tripod mount. The all metal construction is cool too, it's just beastly heavy I'm sure. The all gray WWII battleship paint job is sweet as well.
I like the new metering system there...I think... What is your procedure for filling the fuel and O2 through that bottle? What are you using for ignition?
Your goal of a 1/2 mile potato unfortunately will not be realized. There's too much drag on an irregular shaped spud slug and you'll get to a point where higher power will just vaporize the potato. Think harder, consistent shaped projectiles.
Again, kudos on a very nice cannon!

As starman says, spuds just aren't going to go that far.Torpedo Monkey wrote:One day, I want to fire a potato a half mile, that's my personal goal.
They're not aerodynamic enough to do it without extreme brute velocity, and they're not strong enough to take the required brute force.
... Well, I suppose you could shoot a frozen potato that was deliberately cut with aerodynamic features.
Still, nice cannon. One of the most professional looking ones I've seen in ages.
Does that thing kinda look like a big cat to you?
This is a great cannon. I love the naval armament style, and the stand is awesome. How long does it take you to change your aim, and ho long does it take between shots?
