That you can, but you cannot use rifle bullets, too much friction with the bore. Also remember that the twist rate is made to stabilise elongated spitzer bullets, not shorter lead slugs.
Why not post them here thenpoppamies wrote:i have builded some high power pcp airguns and the biggest is .25cal. i used airgu barrels.

thanks for that! i have thinked posting very long time. but i dont have a camera! but i'm building a new airgun thats again .25cal and uses airgun barrel and i promise you that i will post it when its ready! And i have builded elektrical things maybe 7 years ( im 14) i think i can build a camera.
back to the pcp: only problem is that i haven desided yet, do i build a normal style pcp airgun or more like airforce style?

Hell, i too am 14, and i pay a tad more attention to my grammar and spelling. i somehow doubt you have been building electrical devices since the age of seven but i will go with it. I think building a camera will be more expensive then just buying a simple one.
The looks of your pcp depend one one person and that is you, you build this gun for your self and not for us, and that i something many people on this forum don't realize. In the end if you are happy then you did a good job, the only time when out advice is worth its weight in gold is when tis is about safety.
However, if you are asking for an opinion( in your post you clearly are not) then personally i would go with a classical approach, but its up to you and others will have a different opinion.

I am 14 too...
And i've been considering an airforce pcp airgun, but as i can only use 6mm .2g, i decided to make a spring "sniper".
If you want to make a high pressure pcp, you'd better have a lathe.
I am extremely interested in the fact that you have built multiples pcp at 14 years old only...
How much shots do you get by refill? and what fps? What psi?
Really, have you already made a pcp airgun? A pcp shoots like a 100 times before refill and needs 3000 psi.......i have big doubts, as you think that you can build a camera...
But i would be enjoyed to be proved wrong, can you draw paint schematics or get a hand on your friend camera?

An airforce talon is very simple and powerful, but you need to take out the airtank to refill.back to the pcp: only problem is that i haven desided yet, do i build a normal style pcp airgun or more like airforce style?

yes i have builded 3 pcp airguns. two .22cal and one .25cal. the .22cal shoots with little over 130joules with .22LR round and the .25cal shoots about 16joules with 45grain home casted ammo. i get about 10 shtos per fill. its not much but im not complaining. and building a camera is simple. i have a good friend that has builded over 20 cameras and his been radio amateur for over 10 years(i have only 1year). so i can get the schemtic from him. if someone want blueprint from the .25cal pcp send PM.

would you be so kind as to post them here?
sorry don't get me wrong but there is an unwritten rule stating that -> if there are no pics it didn't happen

Never tried the PCP only because I don't want to have to rely on a scuba refill station. If a decent HP hand pump can be converted to being run by a motor, it might make me reconsider.

You are lucky to have a lathe at 14 years old only...
How much have you made by forging knives?
And 3000psi is nothing to be kiding of.
My dream is to make , after i have bought a 7 x 12 minilathe, a airsoft pcp that is very consistent in fps (dual air chamber and regulator)
The maximum i can make is 450 fps with .43 gram airsoft. Anything higher is an firemarm in Canada.
Does anybody here as any idea on how to make money with crafting things? No airgun of course.

You'll be spending the first couple of months just getting the lathe to run true. This is true even with the bigger lathes.Demon wrote:You are lucky to have a lathe at 14 years old only...

He's right, even with my$3500 336 it took some time to get it going. Check out the minilathe site and perform as many simple operations as you can. Try true the chuck, lap the gibs, remove slop etc.kenbo0422 wrote:You'll be spending the first couple of months just getting the lathe to run true. Are you thinking of using indexable carbide or HSS?

iv got 60€ per knife that i make. iv sold over 400 knifes because you look around forged knifes and some people sell them for over 200€ and i sell 60€. And when i got the lathe it was broken. the motor has fried. i fixed that and now it works like a dream. i will post the blueprint when i have time. now im too busy building my new rifles.

Hmm, a few too many excuses for my taste, first it has to be scanned, then the scanner breaks, then you are too busy, i am sorry but i have to agree with poland. If didn't happen until we get to see those "blue prints", though even then blue prints don't mean you have built it...
Now on a side note, the knife forging idea is a good one... i wouldn't mind some extra cash, and i am willing to bet its not too hard to make a full auto hammer which makes forging alot easier... Where do you sell those knives?

trust me! they are coming. need to get the stupid scanner to work...
i made a good business with knifes. frist i made 10 and sold them for 35€ each. then people who buyed my knifes they told they friends and then they buy knifes and i sold them for 40€. thats good way to earn some cash. But iv maded over 50 knifes before i started to sell them
hah! got new laptop today and it got a camera! so this is a photo of my marble pcp airgun ( somewhta blueprint).
whit this version the idea is that your tank is a shoulder tank behind the hammer valve.
