Me getting paintball gun!

The alley cat is my primary gun. it was my first gun and works great, it also has the ability to run on pure liquid co2. if i need a faster gun i have the special edition piranha equiped with the t-board for speed.

i normaly get guns from yard sells or sold cheap b/c their broken. i just fix them and take me and my neighborhood out to the field to play. basicly i have so many b/c i lend them out for ppl who dont have one or need one.

and yes i do use all of them

the flatline is great for woods once its set up right. it has the advantage of not having to arc your balls to shoot a distance. in speedball its useless. its to big to use the bunkers correctly.

its also a huge change from a normal barrel and takes awhile to get used to.

their are alot of info out about how to shoot it with the best results. one being it must be set straight if tilted a little it will curve. this also means that the gun must be held straight. normaly its best to turn the fps down slightly lower then 280 for the best backspin.

also the bore is odd. small paint wont work at all. i seem to have the best results with larger paint such as midnights or nightmares.

once you get it set right and are used to it its a freat barrel for the woods only

btw to who ever said all paintballs leave the barrel at 300fps need to read up on paintball a bit more

yes most guns can be cranked over 300fps but nearly all fields require somewhere around 280fps, at night at my field we have to be set at 250fps

alex bennett, A5's with flatlines are great...

Even using big bore paint in flatlines they haven't worked right, I mean, they CAN be awsome, but they've been to much of a hassle for most of my friends...

From what I've spent total on paintball I could have had about 500 of the type of guns SEFishy has, Brass Eagles, Tippmanns, Spyders, and Evo's are all very cheap, Excluding A5's (kinda expensive)...

The ICD Alley Cat is pretty cool though, I used to use one of thoose...

i never bought any kind ok high end gun b/c it would just be a waste. I dont really need a dm5 to shoot in the woods

R 1550 (ZAR) = ~ $220 USD... so he's not goings to spend $1000+

I'd say the best Tippmann upgrade is a new barrel, buy one as soon as you can, a 14" barrel is best... don't believe people when they say longer = better ... Only 8" of the barrel is used for acceleration and the rest is used for stability... Too much after the first 8" wil eventually slow the ball...

A good barrel to get is the Freak, but it's "RFE" (really freakin expensive ) I'd look into J&J Ceramic 14" barrels...

If you make Sheet PVC by cutting a PVC pipe vertically, boilining it, and then flatening it, you can make your own trigger, I made one out of wood, but it broke, so my next rig is going to be PVC

all paintball's leave the barrle at 300 fps...

No, that is what they are supposed to leave the barrel at. They have a velocity adjuster on the back to adjust the speed. You can lower it and make the gun just lob the balls, or you can turn it way way up and get in trouble for shooting them at a higher velocity than you are supposed to.

The A5 isn't so expensive, a bit more than the 98 but still. Anybody have a A5? I am sure I won't be able to get a C3, I haven't seen any here.

C3's aren't great, but damn thoose things are fun, just because the concept, but do you really expect a propane pump gun to be great? No, just really cool

They are very accurate with good paintballs though...

I really love A5 flat-lines, if you have an A5 with a E-Grip, a LP kit, and a QEV modification (not a big QEV, they're tiny paintball ones) they can shoot 20fps and long distances... The bad thing about A5's is that the cyclone feed system uses a lot of Co2, that's why an LP kit + N2 tank helps a lot...

demon, im gonna be honest with you, save up more, get an ion. The smart parts ion is 10x better than a tippman, and im not exagerating. Its a high end, yet newbie gun. They are outstanding, i have personally never shot one, but everyone i see or have heard from, loves them. They cost like 300, and they make some really good packages for them.

The bad thing about A5's is that the cyclone feed system uses a lot of Co2, that's why an LP kit + N2 tank helps a lot...

it uses extra air not used in a shot, same way a the RT works. reseting the trigger with a short blast of co2. meaning it doesnt use any extra air.

Well the Ion costs R1900 as it is with no extras. The Tippmann A5 basic which has some sort of cool hopper on it (could be cyclone feed) also costs R1900.
I think I will have to go for the Tippmann 98 because of the value for money, if I upgrade then it could be an Ion. Money like this doesn't come around a lot, next year I will enter the compitition again.

Tippmann 98 custom, hopper, vforce mask, barrel plug, 20oz co2 bottle, red dot sight(mabey) will cost about R1700 then I can also buy paintballs.

I own a c3 and it's a great gun to mess aroound with at home or in relaxed games. but the first one I got, I shit you not, it blew a hole in the side and was shooting 5 inch flames out every time I shot! Tippmann replaced it though...

Quick question:

Coiled remotes, good or bad?

It would be cool to have one for my marker but do they effect the preformance of the marker? From what I have heard these things are good.
