Catapult
Some of you might now that I was going to build a trebuchet for the pumkin chuckin contest. But seeing as I need about 7/8 of a ton it is impractical for me. So Iam going to build a catapult. It will use garage door springs. I have a pic it is hard to explane. But on the cross bar should I tilt it so that when the throwing arm hits it, it will send the pumkin at a 45* angle? O and I need help picking a name.
There is a link on www.ripcord.ws/ all you do is you just go to triggers when you get to the homepage

I have a 3 foot at the pivot treb, with 125 lbs. of wheel weights melted down and cast into 9 inch pie pans. I'm working on my stock pile towards 3000 lbs.
Trebs only fly apart forwards, or backwards. Spring pults go in all directions.
Be carefull. R.B.
