I have my version of robbie's .40 cal gun almost finished and working. I still need to make the stock, and i still need to find a good schrader valve - the one i have is from a bike tire epoxied in - it works fine, but the pressure guage has a pinhole leak. I also need to finish modding my sprinkler valve - it works fine, but i forget how to make it work without leaving the solenoid screwed in - something about epoxy in the holes, but i dont remember which holes to fill lol. I should have pictures up in a little bit if my brother is nice to me..
I also went out and bought a 4' long steel rod today at lowes to use as a ram rod... i just found out that the tail of the metal tipped stun darts is a perfect fit for the rod, so naturally i made some darts. (the rod was 1/8" steel welding rod) right now i only have 2, i dont want to waste too many of the stun darts that i bought, so until i buy some more tails for them, i will only have maybe 5 hunting darts tops. (and when i say hunting, i dont mean i am going to shoot them at living things - im not that stupid) i tested one of the darts out at a cardboard box filled with old magazines at 25 psi - went through 4 and the tip was lodged in the 5th - with plenty of shaft not even into the first magazine yet.

Check a hardware store, I believe I have seen schrader valves before at one near where I live. It had a very nice screw connection on the end, will definitely be better than one salvaged from a bike tube.
I've found that auto parts stores are the best source for the threaded schraders. They are typically used in higher pressure applications than standard automotive and therefore a bit of a speciality item. They hold pressure well without being jb welded in the hole so they're very reusable from project to project. Around here they run about $6 each so recycling is important to tightwads like me.pyrogeek wrote:Check a hardware store, I believe I have seen schrader valves before at one near where I live. People also seem to not to know how to spell WHAT!! Unless "WAT" is a new short form of the word. Looks stupid, though.
BoomerGer said that.......(Watch out...I'm gonna fart!)
