Will do my best! I must say that I am getting fairly good at this stuff. Practice does its miracle!

Worked on the slingshot crossbow some more. I just upped the rubber... added a third strip of Thera Gold per side. 50% stronger than hunter bands.

Clocked it at 63 m/s with the 26 gramms 16 mm lead balls! That is about 52 Joules.

Still manageable, but that is pretty much the limit.

Serious power... this will break bones, and it is very accurate. Pretty much the ideal poacher's weapon.

I don't know, I never measure draw weights. Why should I? I do not intend to sell this weapon (or any other). So as long as I can cock it, it works for me.

But I guess you need to be fairly strong to cock the weapon with three Thera Gold strips per side.

One per side, a boy (with long arms) can cock it. Good for 12 mm steel.
Two per side, average men can cock it. Good for 15 mm steel.
Three per side, athletes only. Good for 16 mm lead.

This is a learning Forum.

I am attempting to learn the relationship between draw weight and Joules/M/S.

If we can share this this data we can determine efficiency and design guidelines for future projects.

It's just not easy. I need all my strength to draw these weapons, and adding a scale into the power vectors destroys the setup.

175 meters? Thats about 190 yards  Wow.

This question has been bothering me for a while now... How did you learn to speak english? In school? or by other means? I'm not trying to be rude its just interesting to me that you are speaking english in germany.

Haha that was great, i'm surprised by the range.

Side note: Are you from Gevelsberg? I have friends around that area in Düsseldorf, Köln, Bochum, Lüdinghausen and Gütersloh. Though i've only been to BW and Bayern, not NRW.

You know, here in Germany we have a tradition. We send our kids to a place we call SCHOOL. The kids that actually pay at least some attention can not avoid making an experience we call LEARNING. :D 8) :D

Seriously, learned it in school, then took business english at the university (I have a master degree in business administration) and "honed" it in many years of dealing with international biz partners. Also I read a lot of English books as I think the translators don't do a great job in many cases.
