I believe my local Lowes/Home Depot also sells the thick-wall conduit. I was looking for 2", and it was too expensive, so I got the EMT.

The 2" EMT I got wasn't seamless, but smoother than normal pipe. The weld bead was smaller. because the material that was welded was so much thinner.

They should be pretty cheap, maybe 10-15 bucks.

I have big pipe cutters for PVC, and when I tried using this type on PVC it didn't work, I'll give it a few more goes tomorrow maybe.

Make sure you make the first 2 twists very slowly, beacause if you do them fast the cutting wheel on these will disalign itself and wont cut at all.

This is a little off topic but would the 1 1/2in EMT pipe fit golf balls the specs make it seem like it will but I'm not too sure, the outer diameter is 1.74in
