SodaStream Blowgun Sniper/BBMG
I finally achieved the awesomeness I was hoping for
With my setup, I can fire off single shots but adjusting the reg to my popoff value (using valveless popoff design), or I can get full auto at whatever rate I want by adjusting the regulator. A higher flow from the reg gives a higher ROF, and a slow rate is also achievable.
I know the paintjob isnt the best, but I like it.
The sodastream chamber is filled via my fridge compressor, using quick connect fittings. To fill:
1. unclip the airline
2. lock the gun into the fill station
3. fill
4. turn compressor off
5. turn reg completely off
6. release air between compressor and gun using ball valve
7. disconnect gun
8. reconnect airline
This whole process filling to around 500psi takes around a minute and a half.. from about 430psi I was getting around 50 single shots off.
Im really happy with how it turned out and its exactly what I wanted. If I want more shots, like lots more, I can put in a sodastream bottle which is full of co2. Would probably give something like 200 shots or so.
The scope I just whipped up using some $3 binoculars from a $2 shop down the road. It works surprisingly well actually. Though I want to buy a nice red dot sight off deal extreme, dont know if it would get through customs though..
let me know what you think

what do you mean the pait job it awesome! and that is one sweet looking gun, just a question the is it just muzzle loaded, and if you dont mind me asking what would you guess it coast? i really want one now great work, just one problem now.... where are the damage pic and vids, i cant seem to see the no but in all seriousness that is epic
Nope, if you look on the blowgun in the third pic, there is a little silver thing poking out to the left. This screws out for loading. I also have a big ass mag using the paint holder from a spray gun which can hold around 500 rounds which screws into the hole..its gravity fed with that mag.is it just muzzle loaded
Damage pics and vid, they'll come. Got a christmas party tonight so it will have to wait sorry.. But at 150psi damage is pretty crazy with a 6mm steel ball... Maybe not that crazy to some of you out there playing around with 500psi plus, but its more than enough for me.. I would NEVER take a steel ball at this power. I got shot with a piece of alfoil rolled into a ball and F*CK me it stung
Oh and the cost, probably around $100 for everything you need.. Which, with a regulator included, quick connect fitting, push to connect fittings and everything, isnt toooo bad. But certainly not cheap
yea im sure i could wait a bit, yea i admit after using my little hybrid that can easaly shoot a 17cal air rifle pellet past the speed of sound 150psi isnt that much but a sacrifice i would make for a semi, yes i have lerned that it is not a good idea to shoot yourself with stuff even if it dose seem weekmore_eggs wrote:Damage pics and vid, they'll come. hey a $100 isnt that much to get a decent power semi in my mind, even tho i would be lucky to have that much at the moment
Well if you got some push to connect fitting that have a nice high pressure rating you could go A LOT higher with this.. Main reason I keep it low is for efficiencyyea im sure i could wait a bit, yea i admit after using my little hybrid that can easaly shoot a 17cal air rifle pellet past the speed of sound 150psi isnt that much but a sacrifice
well i have a 5mm single shot air gun that i would often use at 150-200 psi when target shooting because it easier plus you dont need it to be going all that fast when your just trying to get it though a canmore_eggs wrote:Well if you got some push to connect fitting that have a nice high pressure rating you could go A LOT higher with this.. Excellent job, looking forward to seeing it in action!
Is the barrel shroud just there to support the barrel or have you ported the barrel so it will act as a suppressor?
A proper sight is definitely in order, you can get a cheap-o red dot sight from Australia, there shouldn't be customs issues.

I considered putting some holes in the barrel for a suppressor, but really its not that loud.. So I think its unecessary and it would just cost me power..
Hey that scope is sweet.. Looks like that another thing on the christmas list from the girlfriend

A couple of 3mm holes in the last 2cm of the barrel will take the edge off the muzzle blast without a noticable decrease in power.

Hmm might be something to think about then..A couple of 3mm holes in the last 2cm of the barrel will take the edge off the muzzle blast without a noticable decrease in power.
It really is very quiet though, but we shall see.. theres always room for improvement with everything

I don't imagine it's ear splitting, but it just seems a shame to have that substantial shroud just for aesthetic purposes when it could be very easily converted to do useful workmore_eggs wrote:It really is very quiet though

Looks like someone finally made the viable semi auto with Aussie parts you've been after for a whiledjango wrote:Wow!!!! I love it!
A how-to on how the paint job was achieved would also go down well on the forum methinks, I like the urban camo effect.
Another thing, if this piece of plastic can be imported, it would be a great addition

I like the paint job too.
In other news, great job! It looks effective, but only one way to find out.

I'll have to try round up the parts for one of these 8) I want to use Co2 though and impliment some sort of RELIABLE semi Auto feeder?.
Im concerned though that liquid co2 will flood into the blowgun though as the bottle will be laying on its side as I'm pretty sure those Soda Stream bottles dont have an Anti- Syphon in them.
