Thorondor (High Pressure Copper Pneumatic) - UPDATE 01/12/11
What's the dead volume on your pump? it sounds rather large from your description...

Dead volume would only be the volume behind the outlet check valve, which would be the volume enclosed by the copper female adapter, steel bushing, and 1/4" brass tee. Not too terribly large.

Alright JSR, happy now?
Nothing much... just shooting an ammo box with some steel nuts...
Here lies a dead YouTube video

How many nuts was that, 5? I bet 3 would have been fast enough to go clean through...

It was four 1/4"-20 nuts. I actually had another smaller ammo box inside of that one () which was dented on the outside.
Guess it's time to pick up some penny nails. :/
I sort of agree with you on the ammo box, but I've still got a smaller dented one.

That would explain the lack of penetration. Still, impressive damage

Hammering the head flat should give some measure of aerodynamic stability...

I bought a pound (1lb) of those flachettes (spelling) online last year.jackssmirkingrevenge wrote: Oooh ooh, for your next trick:
They sounds like a swarm of bees flying through the air.
I packed 150 of them into a paper cup sabot, and launched then from a 2'' bore coaxial cannon, about half of them flew straight enough to stick into trees at about 50 yards. VERY AWESOME projectile.
keep in mind though, they are steel, and if they hit something they cant penetrate they bounce. i had one stick into my leg after it hit a concrete wall some 40 feet or so away from me.
