Ok first off NEWBIE. But I want to have an either single shot, or semiauto style Airsoft Sniper that is almost completely silenced. I was hopeing you guys could give me a list of stuff. I don't need a description on what does what I can search that. But I tried looking for this topic and came up empty. I don't want to get an airsoft sniper because they are usually really loud and I want to make one of my own design and not spend $300. Thanks for any help!

why cant you build a silencer for a pre built airsoft gun. Plus if you build one it will need a propelent (air, co2.......) this can be very bulky to carry around.

You could build a strafer, with onboard reservoir and an attached pump...

get 10 shot bursts, before pumping it back up??

Or have manical energy. Like a ram that is coked back by a spring and shot with a bolt. But then I dont know if that would work. Like what Brian said a strafer with dual paintball tanks in a backpack meabey.

yeah you can always build one based on the regular airsoft gun designs with a spring and a piston.

www.boltsniper.com will give you some ideas i think. his guns fire nerf darts but the basic design is the same.

now i dont know about this on all snipers, but the one i have seen is loud because its a spring gun. this means putting a silencer on it would be pointless becuase the bolt moving is whats making the noise not the bb. if you make the barrel really long with a pneumatic gun it will make it almost silent. all my silencers are pieces of barrel pipe with holes drilled in them, they work pretty decently.

upcoming projects... finalized clip fed BBMG and ball point pen sniper

Here's an airsoft page that might help you design a mechanical airsoft gun, it has some pics if you scroll down. http://www.airsoftretreat.com/chal-howtheywork.asp

Here is an idea I have been toying with, basically a spring action gun. http://spudshot.com/Forum/viewtopic.php?t=76

DEMON, in your design make holes behind the plunger or it will create a vacuum behind it will not go forward.

6 years is a long time :)
either single shot, or semiauto style Airsoft Sniper that is almost completely silenced
If you want quiet, low pressure is your friend, so you want a long barrel for decent performance.

What are your building skills and tool availability?
