I know it's a bit late, but here's another video by the Slow Mo guys that shows droplets colliding at 5000 frames per-second. It also gives details of their setup.

So Nikon is now on board with high speed. The new v1 shots 1200fps at 320x120, which is about the same resolution with a better aspect ratio than the EX-F1. The one lens kit is actually cheaper than the MSRP, and certainly cheaper than the EX-F1 is now...
Casio could have really made a profit it they developed this in something more open like micro 4/3.

THIS IS A VIDEO

Personally, I think the second (youtube) one looks like butt, but it may improve.

Now Panasonic needs to put this in the GH3, and my life will be complete.

Wow thats cool that Nikon has got a high speed camera, hopefully, soon many major camera companies will start to go high speed. It sucks that theirs so little choices for less than $100,000. Anyway I made this cool little exploding coke compilation. Footage was scattered throughout 2011. Enjoy:

Although I doubt it would be very useful for us, there's always Twixtor. It's just one of those programs that tracks the pixels between two frames to create new frames and, seemingly, high speed footage. I doubt it would work for fast moving projectiles but could be cool for just slowing down a video of a cannon firing something.

Edit:

Oh it works best when the footage is shot at a minimum of 50fps. I was thinking of getting a 1080i HD GoPro that can shoot 60fps at 720p and selling my Casio Exilim FC100. The Exilim is good, but I would use the GoPro more.

Some Pen-Gun fun! I built this one with a Presta valve, IMHO they're far more suited for use as a pilot than schraders. For starters, they lack a spring so the moment you break the seal, they 'pop' open. They are easily depressed with a thumb, and the integrated screw can function as a safety, allowing you to mechanically disable the trigger (Though if the piston fails, the gun will still fire). Lastly, they seem to have superior flow.

Here it is discharging underwater:

And in a display of accuracy, here it is precisely hitting a couple of tic-tacs balanced on the end of a straw from about a metre away.

I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be without sponges.
Right now I'm having amnesia and deja vu at the same time. I think I've forgotten this before.

Nice! I'd use a presta on a pengun, if I could find one!

Once I get Twixtor, I'm going to slow some of my high speed videos down to 30 fps, and run them through to compare the results.

Haha, it's been few and far between... But I need something to distract me from my final high-school exams coming up in two days! :D

I actually reached for that pen-gun to film the video, got to the sink and realised that it had mysteriously sprouted a schrader valve! I sat looking at it, thoroughly confused, before going back and finding the one in the video... It turns out that while I was certain I only owned two of the things, at one point or another I threw another one together that I had completely forgotten about, which looked quite similar to the new one.
