That doesn't even sound safe, do you at least set minimum engagement distances? And I don't wear a huge loadout when I play. I have a hydration carrier, some bdu's gloves, a hat, and boots.
Yeah, it's that important.

Minimum engagement is 20 feet, in between that and five feet its pistol (unless the guy is being a jackass), and below five is calling out "bang".

Wow, that is deathsoft, 20 feet with a 575 fps gun? Why would you even do that? At least you are all wearing paintball masks.

Yeah... But if you only have a backyard to play in, what can you do? Now, lets get back on topic. What can I do to upgrade?

You need new gears, piston, tappet plate, Cylinder head, piston head, motor, wiring, lipoly battery and charger. All together, this should cost just under 200 if you get decent parts.
Yeah, it's that important.

Indeed. I've dealt with a good bit of airsoft guns in my day. If I were you, I would custom fit a version 4 gearbox made by JG, they are relatively low price, and have metal gears, and have an FPS rate of about 450, which is MUCH better suited to that range.. It will still hurt though.. REALLY badly.

Evan, I can't just buy a new gear box for this. Its really really hard to find.

See what I mean? Look at the very front under the air nozzle, that's where everything connects.

Sandman, I will see what I can do.

Meh, I already have the motor, so I am just gonna get a stronger spring. It may not be the 300%, but it has to be higher than 325 fps...

Get an m120 spring and shim your gears, your gun can easily handle it.
Yeah, it's that important.

Well not to be harsh but if you don't know what shims are, you had no business trying to upgrade your gun to such high fps, especially at 20 feet where you don't even need high fps. Look up some aeg guides and they will explain them in depth.
Yeah, it's that important.

Well not to be harsh to you either, but before we got into detail about range this was just supposed to be a help on upgrading thread. Not a "Oh lets discuss the area I will be airsofting in and the distance and why I need the power."

Good point, but I didn't want to help some kids embed bbs into each other but whatever. Get an m120 spring and see how it works out.
Yeah, it's that important.
