I would find correcting easier than the half-way or the double mic method. You can put the laptop in a safe place and not have to worry about hitting it. It really isn't all that hard to correct for distances especially since you have to measure the muzzle to target distance anyway.

I forger not everyone works with musicians. Not everyone has access to hundreds of feet of mic cord, mic stands, mixers, etc. :roll: I wouldn't put a laptop in danger either.
