You need to design and set up a proper scientific experiment:Talk wrote:Blindfold everyone who will touch the planchette during the session?
Then how do we interpret the answers that will be given by the moving planchette?
Can you give me some ideas to set up a proper scientific experiment to prove that there was a spirit?MrCrowley wrote: You need to design and set up a proper scientific experiment:
At the moment, you're already biased towards believing in spirits so we can hardly believe you when you come back and say that Ouija board thingy moved on its on free will.
In my first post I actually wanted to know whether anyone in this forum had messed with these boards so that they'll share some experiences on that topic and these Ouija boards has something to do with spirits(falling under supernatural category).jrrdw wrote:@Talk: Let me ask you this, Are you attempting to prove these boards work and are real or just find out if that is true? Seems to me from your 1st post you're trying t7o find out IF it's true and now trying to prove it is...
This I can vouch for. The mind is very easily influenced. I've experimented and caused minor visual effects simply by being in a dark room with loud music, I even had my tell tale sign of being "high", (a strangely fuzzy lower lip, every drug I've tried causes it, including alcohol). So it's well within reason that an hour in a dark room with the anticipation of what could happen could trigger it in all of you.Alanstone wrote:It doesn't take much to have you in a deep philosophical conversation with a 2 inch zebra striped elephant sitting beside you.
Ask the Ouija board for some winning lottery numbers. If you win, give it a coat of furniture polish. If you loose, throw the board in the fireplace.Talk wrote:Can you give me some ideas to set up a proper scientific experiment to prove that there was a spirit?
That believe will only come if they expierance it directly for themselves.Talk wrote:Now I'm trying to prove that yes there is something as supernatural ,not by calling the jinns(which I can't and I don't want to even if I could) but by proving that there was a spirit that moved the planchette with the ouija board.
Or maybe they will say it's the subconcious mind like Alanstone said, that is why I'll ask the spirit to fuse a light or smash a bottle ,which will prove that their is a spirit that was moving the planchette or it was our subconcious mind.jrrdw wrote: That believe will only come if they expierance it directly for themselves.
Only if you promise to make him cluck like a chicken when ever he hears a car horn blow! :bigsmurf:Alanstone wrote:Dude I could have you stand on a pedistal in space and witness how you, in slow motion, cause the sun to supernova and when its done have you reverse it and put it all back in place the way it should be let alone you consider experiencing ghosts, jinns or any manner of other things. Reality is an extremely subjective experience.
I direct you to to Tim Minchin's poem "Storm" - and particularly this quote: "By definition, Alternative Medicine, has either not been proved to work or been proved not to work. You know what they call alternative medicine that's been proved to work? Medicine."Talk wrote:According to these meanings what if this is something beyond the limits of science?
Have someone else to observe or set up a camera - it's not hard.Talk wrote:Blindfold everyone who will touch the planchette during the session?
