The sorry thing is, a 555 circit is probably cheaper... but the cost of each is small, so do both. The saved batteries will pay for themselves pretty quickly, I would imagain.

interesting, what is it really called so i can ask for it? rubber coating means a lot of stuff.spudshot wrote:just buy some rubber coating (they sell it at hardware stores, just dip your tool's handle in it, and it's coated), cover the tips of the screws with it to insulate them

I think one brand is "plastidip", but I'm not sure. Just ask the hardware store people if they have same sort of dip to cover your tool handles with.
im lookin to buy a stun gun for my cannon and i was wondering if the the amount of volatge matters when it comes to getting really good multiple sparks?
also i was wondering if there is a prefered brand that is more reliable than others?

I completed most of a cannon today (all minus the handles) and had an issue with my stun gun. I think I only have 3 small gaps on the sparkstrip. Outside I could get 9 or so, but once in the chamber only 3 would go reliably.
Also, I zapped myself with it today on accident and it wasn't nearly as bad as people make it out to be (80k volts).

yeah but then he goes on to say "I haven't covered my screws, because I am careful when firing, and to tell you the truth being shocked doesn't hurt bad enough to go to the trouble to cover them. "yuandrew wrote:Yeah, I've thought of that after seeing the pics; if you look at the picture above showing how the wires were connected, you'll notice the screws and wire connections exposed. That will shock you if you accidentally touched one one of those screws.saladtossser wrote:i never thought of that, nice thinkingsyuandrew wrote:The last thing you want to do is to stun and knock youself out at the same time the cannon fires.
personally i would just put a few layers of electrical tape on it to insulate it but if he doesn't want to then thats his problem

I live in australia and stun guns are illegal over here. If i buy one from the american ebay, will i be able to have it shipped over here, or will it be intercepted
Is it really true the camera ignition can blow your finger off?

Move to fricken' America! LOL aussie people come on here all the time asking this...
I vaguely recall someone saying that they bought a stungun from ebay in Austrila. Im not sure how i would "blow your finger off", but stunguns are more powerful then flash ignitions.

me and my friend whos 19 were gona go buy me a stungun from the flea market but we were having fun shootin his golf ball cannon but while he was there by himself he saw a 900000volt stungun
If you cant get a stun gun then get a disposable camera.
They pack quite a punch!
Google how to make a taser out of one of them. Make just the taser and see the big-ass spark. It will scare you at first its that big.
It would be easy to attach to a spud gun. (Screw in 2 screws then attach the wires to them. )
Also be carful with the camera, TAKE THE BATTERY OUT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE WHEN MAKING IT!!!!!!! when it zaps its hot!. It can burn holes in alfoil extreamly easily, the coper wire actualy burns when you do it. (You get a green spark because of that. ) And also it like makes dints into metal things and scortches them.
I am yet to zap my self with mine, The spark is sooooo damn big, scares me...
The only bad thing about this is that the 2 screws will have to touch eachother where you want the spark to happen. Because it isn't very high in volts the spark wont jump.

If the spark is that big can it kill you? Meabey there is not enought amps but I would still be extra careful.Pwnany wrote:If you cant get a stun gun then get a disposable camera.
