EDIT: I checked Spud Wiki and I realized I could just cram that whole system into a project box with a couple official-looking LED's and a "kill switch" on it. Radio Shack should have that stuff, right?

You need to dismantle the bit around the flash tube and make sure you get all three wires.

Theres only one wire coming off the really high voltage but really low power capacitor that ionises the air and thats usually attached to a metal strip which should be arranged close to the gap between the two main capacitor wires.

You get about a 1cm spark using the ionising capacitor to help the 300v capacitor.

Very informative video...
Well it's Halloween so I have to do things (guard the house, lead little sisters around nieghborhood, et cetera) so I'll probly get started on that tomorrow. Let's all hope I don't fry myself again.
