sounds like you got a good mix huh?

It will prob only be as loud as a firecracker but I definitely would go to farm like suggested. The projectiles will prob go a lot farther than you'd expect and if you break someone's window they might be able to file firearm charges (they can't otherwise)

spudshot. The volume and recoil of you spudgun, depends mostly on type of fuel, not Diameter, although diameter plays a part too. with or higher end fuels, you can expect a loud BANG and large flame. But with lower end, less dangerous fuel, ie hairspray/rightguard. you can expect more of a SCHWOOSH noise with a small angular flame..not a big round fireball...but the barrel length also plays a big part. a small barrel will have louder and bigger flames, but a longer barrel will be more effective and also double as a noise dampener.not silencer, it only reduces noise. Try to find a length inbetween that suits your needs best.
it has alot to do with diameter, and ratio, the type of fuel would matter, but not as much as your C:B and F:A ratios, also the bigger the chamber (with a properly sized barrel to match) the bigger the bang will be.
if i were to take my small chamber of 2x9" and inject it with propane and ignite it it would be fairly loud, now if i were to take my larger 3x9" chamber and do the same it would be much louder.

Using the same ratios and such, your spudgun should be about 2.24999999 times louder, i did the math on it, haha, im such a nerd!

When you say "about", round off the decimals.
I should point out that sound measurment is typicaly in decibells, not watts/m^2/second. At 2.25 times the energy, it would be about 3.5 decibells louder.

Bah, the written language is a poor construct, with much chance of ambubigidies, however you spell those... that is, I meant "be reasonable - they don't hold pipes to dimentional standards of (one hundred millionth) of the diameter - especialy on the inside."
(not to mention he probably used 2" pipe = 2" id, 1" = 1" id.... and so on. Unfortunatly, it doesn't work that way. As such, he probably only has 2 significant figures in the numbers he's using, in whitch case he probably should have written "2.3")
Anyway, consideing the 2.25 number has (at least) 3 significant figures, It's safe to write the answear to a calculation using 2.

i have a foot long 4" chamber and a 3 foot long 2.5 barrel using wallmart hairspray. the first time i shot it it freaked out me and my cat. whatever you do be in a field our huge empty place i did it in my backyard thinking it would be nothing and now im missing a fence board and my neibors think i have hand grenades (just kidding). if you can make a stand or somthing to hold it in place? just an idea
