when i was testing the pezo it worked for a wile but when i put the wires to pins and attached them to my mini and wrapped electrical tape, it stopped sparking at the gap. i tried closing and opening the gap but no difference...when i removed the tape and clicked, i saw the current run ABOVE  the insulated part of the wire...what happenned?

Thats not weird its just peizo igniters suck. Or it could just be that the wires aren't making contact with the pins. Wrap them around a couple times

I made a clean spark strip, then bench tested it and it worked well.
Then I built a gun around it-- it would'nt work. Tried 2 pezieos, still no spark. Took out strip put in 2 longer bolts plus ground , worked well.

Pezeios are cheap and easy to get but they suck.

From this site there are links to get BATTERY igniters ,30 bux well spent.
Can be hard to tame spark but but very consistent after set up.

2 sparks much easier with BATTERY igniter

Oh really? I made a 4-gap one. I'll film it and upload it later. Seriously.

My camera is messing up, so here's a diagram. I put it on an old ruler and used copper wire (good conductor)

Where is the spark going to go to? It is just like a electrical circuit. Needs an anode and a cathode.

the spark is between the two pins.bench testing showed that sparks were flying but when i put them into a pill bottle for my mini, it was like the bottle conducted away the current from the spark, thus not igniting the fuel i had sprayed in(being after-shave and air refreshener
