not the only, If the piston fits really good, like a 3" endcap in a 4" pipe, the performance is wonderful too, especially when lubricated or greased.
Persistence is a measure of faith in yourself
Even with a tight fit, O-rings make a world of difference. The piston seals very well with the piston track, but without O-rings I could never pilot these valves off 1/4" ball valves.
The last time I counted launchers of mine that I made, it was 46. That isn't counting any launchers I physically helped make. If that were the case, it might be closer to around 60 or so. If this business works out, I hope to get close to the number Dan jokingly responded with.
Oh and Squishy, today I am actively working on getting that Printable Order Form option working.

74 of them I think - He's got so many that they're now multipling spontanously.
Novacastrian: How about use whatever the heck you can get your hands on?
frankrede: Well then I guess it won't matter when you decide to drink bleach because your out of kool-aid.
...I'm sorry, but that made my year.

Hahahah! Nice.
Actually, about 24 of the work. Around half of those 24 need a bit of prep-work like affixing the universal meter and ignition and hunting down barrels/etc. The rest are in good working order.
I only use about 5 launchers now. Mostly just the Blue Flame. Also the Mauler, Streamlined Simple Combustion, Kevin, and the Mini Golf Baller.

That's still a lot...
Between all the launchers that my twin and I have done, we tend to only keep about 5 or 6 at any one time between us. Normally, they get recycled into new cannons over time (Part of the advantage of using copper rather than PVC).

1:Do you ahve a lathe?, Gort uses one.
2: He makes money from selling them i doubt he will give out the design plan.
3: Its custom made you don't 'buy' the piston, you 'buy' the tee and other fittings but its the piston that makes one gun more powerful then the other.

What you've asked is a bit like going up to the executive board of the Coca-Cola company, and asked them for their exact recipe and ingredient quantities for Coke.
They won't give it - under any circumstances. And they'll be damned pissed off at you.
What you'll have to do, is what the rest of us do if we want cheap Coke. You'll have to look on the label, and try and work out the quantities of the ingredients by tasting the mixes you attempt. If they suck, then you'll have to try again - perhaps mixing it in a different order.
Eventually, you'll get something that vaguely tastes like Coke, and you can use it.
If you can't understand the parrallels, then:
Look around for facts about piston valves, then try and carefully build your own.
Don't trouble anyone for their trade secrets. Try nicely asking someone that doesn't want to sell their valves.

Personally I think that gort and Joel should reveal, unless they have some real huge secret, what is in their valves. See, everyone knows how to make a piston valve but they just don't have the tools to make a good one. If they did they wouldn't buy a valve so by telling what's in the valve us other people would be much more interested 'cause we'd know what we were getting and the kind of quality it was.
