I find that a certain product called Static Guard works well.
It burns blue and on the label it has the combustible symbol and the explosive symbol.
it is my primary fuel for my 1-1/2" bore spud gun and makes it sound like a 10 guage.

It can be found at WalMart and other big chain stores that have anything to do with laundry items. It normally pay about 2.75 to 3.50 (Canadain) a can and it takes about a 1 sec spray to be effective.

I agree with spudstuff-the next best thing to propane that I have found is
Oust air freshener. It's a little pricey but it gives one heck of a bang for the
buck. Personally I would stay away from gasoline for any application save
an internal combustion engine-it's way too dangerous to mess with. I know
as I have a friend with the scars to prove it.

Is oust better than static guard? And does it stink really bad when fired? I do like the static guard though.

Welcome to spud files.

Gasoline works all right when you aerosol it. The only way I ever made it work was to put it in a mister (the kind you use to spray plants in a greenhouse) that sprays a really fine mist, to aerosol it. Even then, it likes to burn inside the chamber after the potato has left the barrel, and I don't think its very good for the gun (ABS or PVC or anything but metal, really). I think it would work well in a metal (or ABS I guess) chamber with an automotive fuel injector installed into the chamber wall.
All around, I think propane, butane, and MAPP are the best spudgun fuels. Propane is really cheap in the long run (after you've bought the meter setup) and works wonderfully (for me anyway).

Peace,
Pete Zaria.

For my combustion gun, i use a few shots of White Rain, a few shots of Static Guard, and a burst of WD40. It seems to be a pretty mean mixture.

Well I'm not sure how much to use, but what you do is buy a butane refill can (you can get them at electronics stores) They are used for refilling micro torches. What you do is take the nozzle off some old hairspray and put it on the butane can so you can spray it.
I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be without sponges.
Right now I'm having amnesia and deja vu at the same time. I think I've forgotten this before.
