yes, I've done it many times before. add flexible fins and empty them except for the front 1/4 of the tube, and they fly straighter.

I've not actually posted my most dangerous ammo yet.

Hmm.

A 4cm length of hard plastic tubing that fits perfectly down a 15mm copper barrel.

Its filled with hot melt glue and holds a 4" nail in the centre by the head so about 3" of it sticks out from one end.

Just with a 1m length of copper pipe I can punch it through a cardboard box at 20m by physically blowing down the tube as if it was a blowpipe.

What it actually gets fired by is 160psi of air and a fast triggered 1/2" QEV valve.

If it meets something its as if you whacked the nail in with a sledgehammer.

The narrow heavy nail and the lightweight but much wider tail means it travels very straight and worryingly fast.

I've yet to test it on hard stuff because I really don't want to risk it bouncing in a residential area.

cool. I like your other ammo idea better (translates better to a larger scale) but this one seems to have excellent penetration. nice.

There was a Weght Restriction of 8lbs or less...... Otherwise, for a 2 inch barrel, you could use the basic PVC missles... made out if 1.25 inch PCV, or you could make wads and shoot airgun bb's (I inhilated a plant pot, its a beautiful thing.......... Plant pot..... BAM...... No Plant pot). as for the 4 inch barrel, take advantage of the perfect fit of 3 inch fittings in 4 inch pipe. make some of the biggest-ass PVC missles on earth.......... Talk about damage.........

1 1/2 inch pipe fits good with just a little clearance in 2". I dont thind
1 1/2 inch fittings would quite fit. unless in a 3" or 4" barrel.

This is the most effective penetrating ammo I've ever fired:

the best ammo i have ever used is this...
( for 3/4 inch barrel can be up sized )

1. get a pecie of 1/2 copper tube 4" long

2. get a 1/2 encap

3. get a half inch coupler

4. solder the half inch cap onto the pipe

5. put some led in the tube and melt it

6 make sure there is still atleast 2 inches inside the ammo for maximum flight

7. solder the coupler onto the back of the tube for looks and better fit in the barrel...(straighter flight to)

8. (alternative) if ur to cheap for all the copper just use a metal tube that fits ur barrel and solder a ball bearing the right size onto the tip...
4" piston valved cannon-half done..( i spilt my cement...)

Hybrid- 75% done. need to build propane holder and drill/tap sparkplug hole..
